Loved being part of Colchester Fringe at Mercury Theatre Colchester. Such a beautiful studio theatre and really welcoming staff.

Delighted to have received two unexpected and lovely reviews:

“Powerhouse performance…kept my attention for every single second”
GJD Reviews

“From start to finish, I was hooked”
Keep Colchester Cool

And this message from an audience member:

“It was superb, Emma. An incredible performance. I was blown away by it. Outstanding.”

I’d love to perform MAN there again. I’ll look into it and keep you posted where I’ll be going next.

It has been so much fun being back at the Edinburgh Fringe and seeing as much as I can whilst producing NewsRevue in the beautiful Assembly Ballroom.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I first performed MAN there. It was all such a whirlwind at the time. I’m so grateful I took the plunge to do it and although it costs everyone so much in terms of time, energy and money it’s worth all the angst for the future life of your piece. A part of me wishes I could have been back at the Fringe this year too but thanks to having done it in Edinburgh last year I shall be performing MAN at another Fringe later this year! 🥕😂 Stay tuned!

I’ve not posted for a while but things have been going on behind the scenes and I’ll be posting some exciting updates soon. Bear with!

Hi All

MAN is all ready to go for festivals and short runs. UK venues and programmers drop us a line!

“A compelling collage of toxic masculinity: a fast sequence of scenarios played out in non sequitur snatches…Taylor never stops being anything less than magnetic.”

Just finished watching Adolescence. I found it devastatingly brilliant.

There was so much that never made it into MAN.

Here's a deleted two-hander by Russell....

What’s that?

A balloon.

Yeah, but what are you doing with it?

It’s for the reveal. What?

It’s for the reveal? Of what?

You know, of its…

So, automatically it’s that colour?

Well, yeah.

Why’s it that colour?

Because when they open the box, they can tell which gender it is.

Can they?

Yeah.

How?

By the colour.

Why can they? Yeah, by the colour. This is lame.

It’s just a bit of fun.

How about this. We use many colours, and then paint a sign which pops and and says, ‘It’s a…’

Then what’s the point of the balloon?

None. Which is my point.

But I bought a s**t load of balloons.

In that colour?

Yeah. What?

I don’t know, I’d just thought we’d evolved past ‘Yay, genitals’

It’s not about you.

F**k you. Sorry.

Well. What should I do with all the balloons?

Don’t know.

I think they want to do the reveal. It’s what they do these days. If you put both colours in, that’ll just confuse everyone.

And we wouldn’t want that. What’s in the bag?

Silly string.

And what colour is it? S**t. What’s that?

A confetti cannon.

What’s that?

A breakable chocolate heart.

What are they?

Bath bombs.

And?

A pinata

Gender reveal scratch cards.

Human nature likes to revere the past as a lost utopia by selectively erasing the bad bits. It’s like those weirdos who live their lives as if it’s 1950, decorating their houses and wearing the clothes of the era, but still enjoying double glazing and shopping in Waitrose. The entire classic bik...
