Going back to University of Essex where our journey begin was so super fun, emotional and exciting! Working with the current students and knowing what’s ahead of them was a real full circle moment for us!

A day to be remembered for sure 👌🏼 🤍

Essex drama graduates have returned to our Lakeside Theatre to help inspire the next generation of theatre-makers in a special creative workshop with our current students.

The students explored how personal experiences, emotions, and identities can become powerful sources of storytelling.

The Succulent Theatre company then took to the stage to perform their current show, Funeral Teeth.

Not long to go till we return! We can’t wait 💚

We're delighted to welcome LiFTS alumni Amy Stephenson-Yankuba and Rio Montana Topley back to campus in November.

Amy and Rio met at Essex studying BA Drama in 2016. They went on to complete their MA in Theatre Practice together in 2020 and formed Succulent Theatre with Katja de la Fuente.

On 14th November, the trio bring their London Pub Theatres Award-nominated show ‘Funeral Teeth’ to our Lakeside Theatre

The show asks what and who are we allowed to grieve? And does that really matter?

Loss is the only truly universal experience. Whether it’s coming to terms with the passing of a loved one, tucking the first tooth you’ve lost under your pillow, or realising that maybe you should have got that map out after all… – we’ve all been there. What’s more, we’re going to keep coming face to face with loss.

Lose yourself (geddit?) in the latest piece by Succulent Theatre, unpacking what loss looks like to them, what it looks like to you, and what it could look like for all of us.
