Earlier this month we spent a week working with the MUSLIVE team, first at Leeds Medieval Congress, and then at NCEM for York Early Music Festival. Our singers Bekah, Hannah and Paul gave a late-night performance of exquisite trouvère songs, narrated by Prof Emma Dillon. The venue was the incredibly atmospheric Holy Trinity Goodramgate Church.

Last week we ran our first ever residential summer school for ensemble singers at Benslow Music! The five days were packed with quartet and octet coaching sessions, masterclasses, singing lessons, informal performances and even a fantastic session on tuning with special guest allan.

Thanks to all of our attendees who threw themselves into every challenge - it was fantastic to watch you hone your craft over the week.

This summer we’re delighted to be running our first ever residential summer school at beautiful !

If you’re a keen singer and would like to spend five days with us working on the craft of ensemble singing - this is the course for you!

You can come as part of a pre-formed group, or as an individual - up to you. You will receive intensive coaching from us, and be encouraged to take your singing to new levels.

Benslow will be the ideal setting, with wonderful rehearsal spaces, and excellent catering and accommodation on site.

A musical rediscovery after 300 years! Artistic Director Patrick Allies recently had the good fortune of a 17th-century partsong fall into his lap, literally. The lyrics are romantic - but are there political undertones?

After almost 2 weeks in the USA we’re back in the UK. It’s been a busy but hugely fulfilling trip, with concerts in Tampa FL, Charles Town WV, Washington DC, Cleveland OH, Cambridge MA and Providence RI, and workshops with very talented local choirs: and .

Four new states for us, many miles on the road, and lots of new friends. The journeys were brightened by beautiful snowy landscapes, trivia and musical singalongs. We’ll share more memories in due course, but here are some portrait shots of our travels (including a snap from our concert with by H. José Bosch).

Huge thanks to everyone who hosted us (and fed us) on the trip. We’re planning return trips for 2027 and 2028, so do let us know if you’d like us to come and give a concert in your town or work with your choir.

We now have just a couple of days at home before we head to Edinburgh for our concert on Saturday.
