Controlled Chaos is committed to supporting up-and-coming performers, writers, directors, producers, and theatre makers of all types, and exposing them to the industry and the public at large. Controlled Chaos launched in 2009 with 'Small Talk' by

Matt Young, as part of the 2009 Melbourne Fringe Festival. This was followed by productions of William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' directed by Dylan Lincoln and 'Life Around the Coffee Table' by Scott Jackson and Andy Roestenburg. Late 2010 brought us 'The Man Under the Bed' by Matt Young, as part of the 2010 Melbourne Fringe. As well as the launch of our music theatre program with 'A Craftily Contrived yet Cunning Cabaret from Controlled Chaos' at The Butterfly Club.

2011 brought with it a deverse range of productions including two collaborations with 5pound Theatre for 'Miss Julie' and 'The Dumb Waiter', our second caberet evening, 'Delightful Delirium - An Evening of Delicious Madness', David Williamson's 'The Removalists', Reg Cribb's 'The Return', and Kelly Ryan's caberet 'Twinkle Twinkle: The Confessions of a Child Hating Children's Librarian.'

Tomorrow we say goodbye to our Co-Artistic Director, producer, actor, collaborator and dear friend Dylan Lincoln. His life was short, but he made many, many friends along the way.

We miss you, we will never forget you. Rest in peace.

‘Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince,/And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.’

We hope to do a charity fundraising night in his honour next year.

However before then if you can spare any cash towards the following two causes that would be amazing!

Playing the Duke is Mark Garfield.

Mark trained at Mountview Academy in 2014 and has numerous stage credits including the role of Albany in QUEEN LEAR (Tristan Bates); Le Beau, Corin, and Jacques de Boyes in AS YOU LIKE IT (Mountview); Uncle Willie and the Senior Judge in the critically acclaimed production of Brecht's FEAR AND MISERY OF THE THIRD REICH (Union Theatre), and Antonio in the Italian classic SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY (Unicorn Theatre). He also has over 100 performances under his belt as Santa in the children’s Christmas show SANTA CLAUS AND THE CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE.

His TV and film work includes: Douglas in the short film IT’S GOOD TO TALK; the deliciously malevolent chat show host Dazzle in the TV Pilot CHARLY’S WORLD, TV and internet commercials, and music videos, most recently with Brit Award nominee, Loyle Carner.

Mark is hugely excited to be part of this new work and to be playing two very different roles.
