Howling at the moon like a wolf for fun got teenage Hugo punished in an unspeakable way and branded the black sheep of the family.

Adult Hugo now lives a peaceful life with his wife Summer amongst the gentle hills of a remote English village... till he receives an eye watering inheritance following the death of his dearest aunt. Hugo is convinced, bit by bit, by his wife and the newly hired doctor that he's a baboon!

And that unspeakable punishment that happened in Hugo's childhood? It happens to him... All. Over. Again

Along with Drayton Arms Theatre, Pulp House is proud to present this staged reading the final play of Somi De Souza’s Freedom Trilogy.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁?

Identifying as a wolf was the final straw for teenage Hugo’s distinguished and well-to-do family.

Now an adult and distant from his kinfolk and his past, Hugo lives a quiet life as a mild-mannered school teacher with his wife, Summer.

While Hugo is in bliss amongst the peaceful hills of their remote English village doing everything he can for the betterment of his mental health, Summer is going out of her mind that she can’t live like a real housewife of Dubai.

Things take a dark turn when Hugo is hit with news of the passing of his beloved aunt. While he’s struck with grief, Summer can barely control her delight thinking of the eye-watering inheritance coming his way.
With the aid of the ever-so-charming new village doctor, Peter, they slowly but surely convince Hugo… that he's a baboon.
