‘Intermission Youth changes lives, and I can attest to that!

Just one yes has opened up so many opportunities for me and, I’ve been able to conquer plenty of challenges, even Shakespearean language during a hot Saturday workshop.

Intermission Youth reminds me that creativity isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. Everyone deserves access to the arts because it opens up endless possibilities. I’m now employed by the same organisation that gave me a chance, and I’m doing things I couldn’t have even imagined’ ❤️

Still thinking about the 2026 Olivier Awards and one moment that really stayed with us ❤️

Congratulations to Paapa Essiedu on winning Best Supporting Actor for his remarkable performance in All My Sons, which we had the amazing opportunity of seeing at the end of February.

‘And there are amazing organisations all over the country, like the Frantic Assembly, like Intermission Youth Theatre , like the National Youth Theatre , like Open Door Theatre , which are doing such brilliant work, but as we all know, their funding has been cut year on year on year.'

His words were a powerful testament to how vital performing arts organisations like ours are, and a call to recognise and protect the arts amid ongoing funding cuts. A reminder that creativity isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.

From the seemingly effortless way our young people dive into Shakespeare, own the stage, and tell their stories; none of it happens by chance. It comes down to access. And right now, too many are still locked out.

In 2025, nearly a third of leading UK actors were privately educated… in a country where only 7% attend private school.... It’s not adding up 🤔

So when you see young people from historically excluded backgrounds thriving in the arts, it’s not just inspiring, it’s essential.

For 18 years, we’ve seen it first-hand: the issue has never been talent (they have it in buckets) it’s opportunity.🎯
