Consistency becomes the defining force in Ilhwa Kim’s practice, as she exemplifies the art of patience in every phase of her ex*****on. Her work draws the viewer into a meditative state, shaped by a commanding interplay of precision, spatial depth, and perceptual complexity. Through this dominant perspective, she crafts elusive imagery that invites individual interpretation, offering each observer a unique visual journey.

On View:

Zhuang Hong-yi, ‘Tides of Folded Light’
02 - 31 July

Like the ebb and flow of tides, these works exist in a constant state of visual becoming, where colour appears to move across the surface and light is captured, reflected, and transformed. Rooted in both Eastern philosophy and contemporary abstraction, Zhuang’s practice reflects on the impermanence of perception and the rhythms of the natural world.

With her instantaneous ability to work with fluid enamel, Mary Ronayne’s figurative yet abstract practice encapsulates energy and movement of the subject. Her chosen medium successfully achieves a playful, aesthetic effect that dominates her compositions, contrasting the control she has over the narrative.

"To my mind, the piece is a 'closed environment' where the fabric is a terrain of sorts, while colour and light function as weather and atmosphere. In this interplay, perception becomes a part of each piece, changing how the work is seen and experienced depending on where and when the viewer stands." - Zak

“My work explores the delicate balance between observation and action, capturing moments that often go unnoticed in our fast-paced world. Through abstract forms and vivid colours, I invite viewers to pause, reflect and reconnect with the present. My art is a meditation on mindfulness, a visual reminder that life’s richness lies not in future pursuits but in the fleeting moments we experience now.” - Vladinsky

Thousands of hand-folded elements accumulate into immersive fields that evoke growth, change, and renewal. Christian Hiadzi’s arresting figurative works explore emotional tension between representational portraiture and the beauty of unsettling abstract portraiture caught within the ordinary. The core of his practice becomes a catalyst to challenge and enhance the viewer’s imagination. Utilising acrylic, oil and charcoal, his works oscillate between heavily worked, textured colourful figures and recently dark skin figures, executed through the use of brushes and palette knife.
