“It felt like we were dissolving the boundaries between people.” 🌬️✨

When Palestinian Nay master Faris Ishaq (Faris Ishaq | فارس اسحق) joined SUPERORGANIC, he brought with him one of the world’s oldest musical traditions.

Born in Bethlehem and now based in London, Faris has spent years reimagining the Nay for contemporary audiences. His journey has taken him from Berklee College of Music to the Monterey Jazz Festival, collaborations with Grammy Award-winning bassist John Patitucci, and recordings for the BAFTA-nominated soundtrack Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.

Yet when reflecting on SUPERORGANIC, it wasn’t the credentials or the performance that stood out most.

It was the spirit of connection.

“The difference is it was set with an intention to dissolve the boundaries between people — like me coming from my tradition, Marlon coming from his own tradition, and the other performers coming from the hip hop tradition.”

For us, that captures the heart of the project.

Not asking people to leave their culture at the door.

Not blending traditions until they lose their identity.

But creating a space where different stories, sounds and histories can meet with curiosity, respect and openness.

“It felt like everybody had the intention to connect and this for me is precious. Very precious.”

“From the moment I walked into that room, I felt welcomed.” ❤️

AJ ( ) first crossed paths with SUPERORGANIC at a Rich Mix x Connects event. A conversation followed. A connection was made. Six days later, she was standing on the SUPERORGANIC stage sharing her story through music.

For AJ, the experience wasn’t defined by a single performance or standout moment.

It was the feeling in the room.

“I looked around at all the people in the room and saw how connected everyone was. Everybody was different, from different backgrounds and experiences, but we’d all come together for one reason, and that’s love.”

A passionate rap artist from Sheffield, AJ’s music is rooted in honesty, healing and powerful storytelling. Through her songs she explores resilience, growth and the journey of making sense of life’s challenges.

Perhaps that’s why her reflections on the night resonated so deeply.

“Love is a big thing for me. I come from brokenness. I come from a broken home and a dysfunctional family. I’m not used to walking into spaces where acceptance is automatic.”

Yet that’s exactly what she found.

A room full of artists, musicians and audience members willing to listen, connect and support one another.

Reflecting on the experience, AJ spoke about the confidence she took away from the evening.

“SUPERORGANIC reminded me that there are so many other people who feel the same way. It gave me permission to stand on my truth and share those words.”

For us, that’s what SUPERORGANIC is all about.

Creating spaces where people feel seen. Heard. Valued.

“I love the celebration of music that is SUPERORGANIC. It really opened my mind to different possibilities, different styles and sounds of music - I loved every minute.” 🎷✨

London-based saxophonist Harry Bennett () is part of a new generation of jazz musicians pushing the tradition forward.

A Guildhall School of Music & Drama alumnus, Harry performs across London and the South East, leading his own jazz projects.

“I’m a jazz sax player so I often play music rooted in the past, but SUPERORGANIC feels hip, happening, now and really modern.”

For us, that’s what SUPERORGANIC is all about. Creating a space where emerging and established artists can learn from one another, push creative boundaries and discover new possibilities through collaboration.

Dembis Thioung () is a Senegalese master drum-maker, percussionist, educator and community gatekeeper carrying forward powerful rhythmic traditions through Dundun, Djembe, Sabar, Calabash and Asico drums.

His work bridges tradition and innovation — reminding us that percussion is not just sound, but communication, memory and collective energy.
