Something on the stairs 'SOMETHING ON THE STAIRS' is a guerilla design project. We are particularly interested in stairs because they have many interesting features.

We look for hidden and abandoned space and time in cities and people’s lives and create new value or use of them. The stairs cause human movement but it is very limited in vertical moving line. In everyday journey, people walk on stairs and many steps outside and inside. The stairs lead them from one to the other level of space. It is generally an insignificant moment for the people only to get de

stinations where they are heading. We see the time on the stairs is discarded. Since stairs are closely related in movement, sometimes they are replaced by more functional and modern technology such as a lift and an escalator inside of building and they are now left for emergency situations. We see the original function of the stairs is lost. We would like to create new value or use on the stairs and infuse our cities with creative ideas. 'SOMETHING ON THE STAIRS' is a guerilla design project, happening once or twice a month. We’d love to collaborate with various designers, artist and any people who have creative ideas and warm heart.

계단은 우리 주변에서 쉽게 볼 수 있는 가장 흔한 도시의 구성 요소 중 하나다. 그러나 기술이 발달하면서 등장한 엘리베이터나 에스컬레이터 등으로 계단은 자신의 원래 자리에서 꽤나 많은 부분을 내주어야 했다. 지하철역에서 사람들로 꽉 찬 에스컬레이터 옆에 빈 공간으로 방치되어야 했고, 도심의 빌딩에선 엘리베이터 뒤로 모습을 감춰야 하기도 했다.
