Do you know the history behind the Nelson Mandela bust on Mandela Walk? 🤔👇

To celebrate Mandela Day and Nelson Mandela's birthday, here’s a 1982 throwback of sculptor Ian Walters working on the masterpiece in his Battersea studio!

Look closely at the base next time you pass Royal Festival Hall - it features Mandela's famous declaration, "The struggle is my life," and chronicles his journey from his release to his inauguration as South Africa’s first Black president (1990–1994) 🇿🇦🖤
