Bringing Korean Culture to life at Samsung KX

We hosted a session on Hangeul Calligraphy, sharing the story of how Hangeul was invented through a live visual demonstration on the big screen.

Our favourite moment?

Reading the preface to the Hunminjeongeum written by King Sejong the Great himself, introducing Hangeul to the world. A language passed down through generations, still vibrant and alive more than 500 years later.

May2026 - We had the pleasure of attending a wonderful cultural evening hosted by Korean Air, celebrating the travel routes connecting South Korea to iconic destinations around the world.

And honestly? It couldn’t feel more timely. More travellers than ever are falling in love with everything it has to offer, from its food and culture to its breathtaking landscapes.

As a Korean myself, there is something truly special about watching the world embrace a place so close to my heart. 🥹

We’re already counting down to our next trip to Seoul! ✈️

20260409 - Our first beauty experience with a leading K-beauty brand – Anua. So grateful to be a part of launch event and to meet the beauty influencers and creative team behind the scenes.

Imagine a Seoul night out with your bestie; pop into Anua, snack and sip your way through the city, dance to K-pop, try a tattoo moment, and never forget a selfie with a fan with you name on it. Seoul after Dark vibe!!

A colourful touch of Korean traditional folding screen and enlarged artist stamp in black & white to add artist signature, the angle adjustment from lighting, all these combined was beyond word to see the transforming the booth into a stage set.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers!

Our calligrapher, Kilchan Lee was commissioned to create eight-chapter headers, each one a character’s name written in Hangeul cursive for a new fiction, Minbak by Ela Lee published on 05 March 2026. Today, we visited a local bookshop and picked up a hard copy.
When we opened the book to the dedication page, it begins with the heartfelt line: “For the mothers. For my mother.”

We are excited to read into each character’s story and see how every chapter brings their identities to life. Creating these handwritten designs was a meaningful artistic journey, and we’re grateful to the editor, author, and design team at Penguin Random House UK for the collaboration. Thank you.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES

Hangeul Calligraphy London recently had a calligraphy event at the British museum titled Korean Calligraphy Session with Hangeul Calligraphy London.

During the session, our close friend and photographer Inga Marchuk kindly captured these moments for us. These images offer scenes from the event and behind-the-scenes, and because they were taken with such love, you can feel the warmth in every frame.

In the background, Calligrapher Kilchan Lee created two A1 sized artworks featuring the preface to Hunminjeongeum, written in the Panbon chae style.

Mr Kilchan titled this piece Hangeul Sarang, meaning Love for Hangeul. The preface was written from right to left reflect the original style of traditional Korean calligraphy. In the open space toward the left, he added Cheon-Ji-In, the dot, the horizontal line, and vertical line – symbols that form the foundation of Hangeul.

Mr Kilchan created two versions of this work, which you can see displayed at the top and the bottom. You will also find additional photographs taken from various directions and angles.

The initial idea of creating A1 sized piece was proposed by the event organiser Minju MJ Song, suggested Hangeul related piece that could be used as a background. We are grateful to Minju MJ Song for initiating this great idea. We also deeply appreciate your dedicated efforts in promoting both the calligraphy event and the special lecture on ‘Why we Write’.

We would love to add them into our story or include them as part of our photo archive.

IMO Republic of Korea Reception

27 November 2025 This year’s program showcased the beauty of Korean culture through K-dance, K-food, Korean Calligraphy, and other highlights.
The program also featured a speech by the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, Chun Jae Soo. Minister Chun visited our booth, expressing appreciation for our activities and congratulating guests as they received their personalised bookmark in Korean Calligraphy, which were warmly welcomed.
It was an engaging evening, and we are grateful for the opportunity to return and contribute once again. Here are some moments from the event.

HallyuCon 2025 – Where Korea Meets You

21 November 2025 We are honored to be part of HallyCon 2025 and celebrate its 5th year of sharing Korean Cultural experience. We loved meeting everyone and sharing Seoye – Korean Calligraphy – writing names, meaning words, and motivational quotes for you and your loved ones. Here’s to many more years of celebration and carrying this meaningful cultural exchange into the years to come.
