WHICH WAY NIGERIA?

01/10/2026

🇳🇬 Happy 66th Independence Day, Nigeria 🇳🇬

Today, we celebrate 66 years of independence, but beyond the celebrations, my heart is heavy.

Nigeria is a nation blessed with talented people, abundant resources, brilliant minds and enormous potential. Yet, after 66 years, too many Nigerians are still struggling with insecurity, poverty, unemployment, poor infrastructure and the rising cost of living.

We have a country where our young people are full of dreams, but many are forced to leave home in search of opportunities. We have parents struggling to provide for their families and ordinary Nigerians wondering when life will become easier.

Nigeria deserves better. Nigerians deserve better.
But despite everything, I still believe in Nigeria. 🇳🇬

I believe in the strength of our people.
I believe in our resilience.
I believe that a better Nigeria is possible.
As we celebrate today, let us not only wave the flag. Let us also ask ourselves: What can each of us do to contribute to the Nigeria we want?

May there be more peace, justice, accountability, opportunities and good governance.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. 🇳🇬💚🤍💚
May Nigeria rise again.

A Word of Advice to Parents:
Prepare for Your Old Age
fans
Dear parents, one of the greatest responsibilities we have is not only to raise our children, but also to prepare ourselves for the years when we may no longer have the strength, health or income we have today.
Please don't make your children your only retirement plan.

Love your children, support them and give them a good upbringing—but also build something for yourself. Save when you can. Invest wisely. Have a plan for where you will live. Take care of your health. Develop relationships and friendships outside your children.

Remember that your children will eventually have their own responsibilities. They may get married, have children, have financial difficulties or live in another country. This does not necessarily mean they don't love you.

Teach your children responsibility, but don't make them feel responsible for carrying your entire life.
If you have a business, property, pension or savings, protect it. Don't give away everything simply because your children are doing well today. Circumstances can change.

And parents, please talk openly with your children about your wishes for your later years. Discuss healthcare, accommodation, finances and the kind of support you may need. These conversations are easier to have before a crisis happens.

Most importantly, don't wait until old age before you start preparing.
Your children are your family—not your retirement fund.

Prepare yourself so that when old age comes, you can enjoy your children's love without placing an unbearable burden on them.
Let's raise children who will care for their parents out of love and responsibility—not children who are forced to sacrifice their entire lives because their parents never planned for their own future.
Prepare for tomorrow while you still have the strength to do so.
