Our final introduction for HORIZONS Vol #3 is the return of our fabulous host:

Kristie Winsen ⭐

Kristie trained in musical theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. Her performing credits include Katherina in The Taming Of The Shrew (Globe Shakespeare Festival), The Professor in Who Put Bella In The Wych Elm? (RCSSD Workshop), Modern Mary in Carols At The Rose (Rose Theatre Kingston), New York Socialite (Featured Role) & Ensemble in Sweet Charity (Bridewell Theatre), and Bethany in the workshop of new musical Unboxing Bethany (Umbrella Rooms). Kristie is the founder and host of UPLIFT Musical Theatre, a hybrid live-and-digital concert series that has reached audiences in over 25 countries and earned her a WhatsOnStage Angel Award. Kristie is also a producer, with credits including the development of new musical Portrait Unknown (VIEW Festival, Musical Bites at The Other Palace) and co-founding HORIZONS: Songs from New Musicals(Crazy Coqs).

Now you’ve met all of our wonderful composers and performers, there’s only a few more introductions left!

First up our Musical Directors!

Meet: Cerys McKenna and David Gibson

Cerys is a London-based Musical Director and pianist with a Masters in Musical Direction from Mountview and a BMus from Royal Holloway. She has served as Assistant/Associate MD on Titanique (Criterion Theatre, 2024/5), Your Lie in April (Harold Pinter Theatre, 2024), ROAM (Shaftesbury Theatre, 2025), and Ride (Southwark Playhouse, 2023), among others, and contributed as rehearsal pianist and keys on productions including Standing at the Sky’s Edge and Becoming Nancy. Her Musical Direction credits include Jane (The Other Palace Studio, 2025), Now. Here. This. (Edinburgh Fringe, 2024), Diary of a Gay Disaster (King’s Head Theatre & Mountview, 2023), and Cinderella (Brighton Pantomime, 2024).
 
David, from Northern Ireland, is a Music Director, pianist, composer, and arranger based in London. He studied piano performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, winning the Emmanuel Prize, the Weil Prize, and the Concerto Competition. Recent musical theatre credits include Bloody Mary and the Nine Day Queen – A New Musical (Union Theatre, Southwark) and touring as Musical Director with West End Has Faith across the UK. He is also Music Minister at Christ Church Cockfosters and works across classical, musical theatre, and contemporary music genres.

We have one more wonderful composer to introduce to you, it is our Song of the Year Composer

Meet: Finn Anderson

Finn Anderson is an award-winning Scottish writer and singer-songwriter. He is on attachment at the National Theatre, is Associate Artist at Lowry, and was the Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer 2020-21. Musicals include Islander (Off-Broadway/Off-West End/US Tour, with translations and productions across the world), Streets (Off West End nominated for Best New Musical), and upcoming Ballad Lines (Southwark Playhouse Elephant).

We are so excited to share a song from Finn’s new musical Ballad Lines at Horizons! Make sure you’ve booked your tickets!

For our final performer announcement, we are delighted to welcome back for her third HORIZONS:

Shaylyn Gibson!

Shaylyn Gibson is a Canadian-American actress and singer.  She holds a BA in Opera Performance from Ithaca College in New York State and an MA Classical Acting from LAMDA. Shaylyn was most recently seen stepping in for an injured performer in “Moominvalley in November” at Upstairs at the Gatehouse. Other stage credits include: Catherine in “Proof” at Network Theatre, Katie Mitchell’s production of “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Royal Opera House, and “Next Door’s Baby” at Theatre at the Tabard.  Shaylyn currently performs two shows a day in Elvis Evolution at London’s Excel Centre. Screen credits include, “SAS: Rogue Heroes” (Kudos), “Belgravia” (Carnival), “So Long Marianne” (Prime Video), and short film “Purgatory”.

Shaylyn is a fan favourite and a HORIZONS pro - don’t miss the chance to hear her wonderful singing again! Have you got your tickets?

With less than a week to go, it’s time for our next lyricist/ composer duo announcement!

Meet: Tasker and McGrath

Amy Clare Tasker and Tom James McGrath are a London-based musical theatre writing team. Their musical The Queen Is Mad ran at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025, where it was named an Elaine Paige Pick of the Fringe (BBC Radio 2) and received a special commendation from Musical Theatre Review.

They are currently developing their second musical, RISING, set during the 1916 Irish Rebellion. Their work has been showcased at The Other Palace (Stiles + Drewe Best New Song Prize finalists, 2024), the Crazy Coqs, Union Theatre, and Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club. They are members of Book Music and Lyrics (advanced group) and Mercury Musical Developments.
