The FAC Industry Kitemark & Artist Guide on Music Distribution aims to make distribution clearer and more transparent, helping artists make informed choices at every stage of their career. Artist & FAC Artist Council Member Lazlo Barclay (aka Pink Mario) explains why the Kitemark was created.

“Distributing music can be an absolute minefield for independent artists. Our hope with the kitemark is to provide clarity to artists at all different stages and make the process of distribution more transparent for everyone.”

“It’s getting harder and harder for bands to balance the books these days”

The UK Artist Touring (UKAT) fund helps to address financial pressures facing touring artists, and we’re here to ensure that funding reaches every part of the UK’s rich and diverse music ecosystem.

Phase One awardees Memorials share why UKAT funding was a lifeline on their 2026 tour: “The cost of living crisis means audiences have less money in their pocket for tickets, while the basics of touring like food, fuel and accommodation are costing more.”

We believe that without artist activity there is no live business. By plugging shortfalls, funding enables artists to present their work and vision in the manner in which audiences are intended to experience it.

There’s still time to submit an application, so head to head to the UKAT Hub for full guidance, eligibility information, and how to apply.

Applications for Phase Two of UKAT close this Friday 11th September at 23:59.
