In my acrylic painting, "The Protector" I explore the intricate dynamics of the traditional male role within the family structure, focusing on the delicate balance of being a lover, provider and a protector. This painting is a visual exploration of these age-old expectations that have defined men since the time of the cavemen.

The concept of protection often extends beyond the physical realm, encompassing emotional and psychological support, which can be likened to the sanctuary that a shelter provides. In creating this piece, I wanted to reflect on the evolving nature of these roles in contemporary society, where partnerships are increasingly defined by mutual support and shared responsibilities.

I hear today is International Kissing Day! Can't think of a better moment to show you a very romantic new watercolour painting on wood I completed recently. And a few more kiss themed paintings from the past :) Clearly, I'm a big fan of romance... Does romantic art make you happy, too?
