We never planned to run a wedding band company. We just wanted to play.

Between us we’d performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Ronnie Scott’s, recorded on number ones and TV ads. Then we met in a wedding band (yes, really) and ended up playing hundreds of weddings ourselves.

Somewhere in all those Saturdays, we worked something out. The best weddings weren’t about the flashiest band. They were about the people up on that dance floor feeling something. And too many couples were getting the same off-the-shelf band in a different wrapper.

So ten years ago we built Boujee Music to do it properly. Bands created from scratch. A real team behind every performance. And the same care we started with, in every act we send out.

We’re not on stage at your wedding anymore. We’re behind the scenes, making sure everything’s right - because we know exactly how much this day matters.

Most couples don’t realise there are really only two ways to book a wedding band. And both have a catch.

Book direct, and you get real musicians - but one person juggling their inbox between gigs. Slow replies. No backup if someone’s ill.

Go through an agency, and you get systems and polish - but a middleman who’s never stood on your dance floor. Often the same band resold under five different names to five different couples.

We spent years as those musicians, messed around by those agencies. So we built the third option we always wished existed.

Bands created from scratch. Exclusive to Boujee. Real musicians running the whole thing, with a proper team behind them. All the care of booking direct. All the structure of a real team. None of the nonsense of either.

10 years booking wedding bands, and these still make us both wince.

Couples choose off a promo video - 90 seconds, carefully edited, in an empty studio - and never see how the band holds the crowd for 3 or 4 hours at a real wedding. Your guests won’t be watching a video, they’ll be feeling the real thing, and you can’t tell from one promo whether a band can bring the vibe on the day.

Watch out for these before you sign:

1. One super-slick video and not much else.

2. Lots of close-ups of individual musicians, hardly any shots of guests or the dance floor.

3. Audio that sounds ‘studio perfect’ with no sense of a live room or crowd.

4. You can’t tell if it’s from a real wedding or a staged shoot.

5. No way to see them play live, in real life.

Two days until the showcase - and we’ll let other couples do the talking.

Every couple here came to see a Boujee band live before their wedding. This is what they took away from it.

On Thursday 28th May we’re doing it again with in Bethnal Green - three wedding bands live, drinks, canapĂ©s, an evening you'll remember.

On Thursday 28th May, we’re teaming up with for a wedding showcase evening - experience the venue at night, drinks and canapĂ©s on arrival, roaming entertainment, and a headline set from our show band Uptown Showdown at 8pm.

No pressure. Just a real wedding venue, live music, and a proper night out.
