Bridge Lane Theatre

Bridge Lane Theatre FRINGE THEATRE IN SOUTH LONDON Economical theatre conversion of a hall attached to a non-conformist church.

The three-sided auditorium with raked cinema seating was unremarkable but saw a number of well-reviewed productions, some with actors of the calibre of Corin and Vanessa Redgrave. The United Reformed Church had been trying to sell the site for redevelopment since 1994 and a series of residential applications were refused in and after 1998. Planning permission was finally given in 2001 and the theatre was subsequently demolished. 2002
