For this week’s we’re spotlighting the brilliant Kirsty Tanner, represented by ⁠

⁠
Kirsty Tanner is a mixed media artist whose work reflects on both natural and built environments. She begins each piece by carefully blocking out sections of the canvas with masking tape, creating her bold, negative spaces. This process allows her to examine how our surroundings can unexpectedly interrupt moments of beauty. By choosing to leave buildings out of her compositions, Kirsty invites the viewer into a quieter, calmer space, offering a sense of stillness and peace. ⁠

Congratulations to and gallery director Gregor Manaylo on this very special exhibition: MANAYLO – Three Generations, One Living Tradition.

Bringing together the works of three generations of the Manaylo painting family at the Hungarian Cultural Centre (Liszt Institute) in London, the exhibition offers a rare insight into an artistic lineage that spans from 20th-century Subcarpathian roots to contemporary international expression.

The exhibition traces a lineage from Fedor Manaylo, a defining figure of Subcarpathian and Rusyn fine art, through Ivan Manaylo’s expansive and exploratory vision, to Andrew Manaylo, whose work bridges heritage and contemporary abstraction. You may recognise Andrew from his appearances at our London fairs!

It was a pleasure hearing Gregor speak about his family’s history at the opening, including the similarities and differences across the generations, which offer a fascinating and deeply personal dialogue between past and present.

We're delighted to bring back our Children's Art Competition to Affordable Art Fair Hampstead, 6-10 May ✨⁠

We're inviting primary school pupils from Reception to Year 6 in Hampstead and the surrounding area to submit artwork inspired by this year's theme: Heath & Heart, Celebrating Your Local Community⁠
⁠
What makes your neighbourhood special? From the lush greenery of the Heath to the people and places that make it feel like home.⁠
⁠
Winning entries and runners-up will be showcased at the Hampstead fair across three categories (Reception and Year 1, Years 2 to 3, and Years 4 to 6), giving young artists the chance to have their work celebrated alongside galleries from around the globe. Winners and runners-up will also receive complimentary tickets to the fair! ⁠

Lisa Price makes her own watercolours from minerals she forages herself, painting on recycled linen to minimise her environmental impact.
