Swiss Theater Workshop UK

Swiss Theater Workshop UK «Swiss Theatre Workshop UK» is a new swiss theatre company. The aim of the company is to create multidisciplinary and multilingual performances.

"Swiss Theatre Workshop UK" is a swiss theatre company based in UK. The aim of the company is to create multidisciplinary and multilingual shows to promote the work of past and today Swiss artists (authors, musicians, painters...) but also of foreign artists who lived and worked in Switzerland. The creator of the company is Yanouchka Wenger Sabbatini. She is a director, a multilingual actor and an

art historian. She has worked mainly in the UK, France and Switzerland. Since her move to the UK ten years ago, Yanouchka has increasingly felt the necessity to forge links between the UK and the diversity of European cultures that in many ways Switzerland embodies, and vice-versa. Her interest is to create shows that are not only «plays» put on stage, but a multidisciplinary experience where all arts are connected, where every aspect of the creation is equally important (text, music, image, poetry, dance...). A «Gesamtkunstwerk». In 2016 in London, she played Géronte in «The doctor in spite of himself» for Exchange Theater and in 2017 directed «Médée Kali» by Laurent Gaudé at the Cockpit Theatre. In 2018, she has been nominated guest director for the Brighton Scratch Night. She is currently working on an adaptation of "Warum das kind in der polenta kocht" by the swiss writer Aglajy Veteranyi for the UK theatre scene.
