London Scribes, first established in 1992 by Craig Poland-Smith, uses time-honoured materials and classic styles to provide traditional calligraphy. With skills honed over 13 years of practice, current Company Director and head calligrapher, Jenny Collier, creates handwritten pieces for a wide range of clients. Using classic dip pens, traditional inks and the highest quality stationery London Scribes enhances events, visual communication and personal correspondence for our clients. Providing many writing, printing and stationery services - designing and writing invitations, placement cards, signage and handwritten menus and more; artistic inspiration and ideas are brought to life with a personal touch and the craft of hand calligraphy. A bespoke London Scribes typeface has been created to complement the classic italic handwritten style so larger projects can be realised in shorter timeframes and at reduced cost. Additionally, original watercolour and gouache paintings are used exclusively for London Scribes and their clients – producing cards, invitations, decorations and personalised stationery made with 100% post-consumer waste paper. Based in central London to be nearby many of our clients and suppliers, London Scribes are committed to best practice, sustainability and reducing emissions in all we do.
