London Design Festival Next edition: 12-20 September 2026

Discover designers from across the world and join us in celebrating London as a design capital on the global stage.

London Design Festival was launched by Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE in 2003. Building on London’s existing design activity, their concept was to create an annual event that would promote the city’s creativity, drawing in the country’s greatest thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators to a deliver an unmissable celebration of design. The launch of the first Festival took place at

Bloomberg on 25 March 2003, with a show of support from design, education, government and London organisations. 20 years later, this vision remains ever strong. In 2019, the Festival welcomed a record-breaking 600,000 individual visitors from over 75 countries. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2022, London Design Festival now moves into a new decade, celebrating how it has played a key role in the growth of the design industry, bolstering London’s position as a global destination for business, culture and tourism, and contributed to the UK’s reputation as a creative powerhouse. As one of the world’s leading design events, the Festival has also served as the blueprint for design weeks and festivals globally and continues to be a key moment on the cultural calendar.

Join The Art of Curation at The Capston this September.

As part of this year’s Festival, FT art market correspondent Melanie Gerlis leads a discussion with artist Vincenzo Muratore Vincenzo Muratore, sculptor Anna Gillespie Anna Gillespie and Mulryan Gallery’s Anastasia Anastasiadou Anastasia Anastasiadou.

Hosted at The Capston, the evening event explores how curated art can transform architecture, create identity and character, and shape the cultural value of luxury residential spaces.

🪟 In-Between Thresholds by Студия Рисования Новороссийск considers the spaces between arrival and departure, stillness and movement, exploring what emerges in moments of transition.

🪑 Shape of Scent by Odell Beckham Jr x Super Ornament asks how scent can inspire form, translating .obj signature scented candles into unique metal furniture pieces.

🍽️ The Ritual of Living by and Anna Blakey Interior & Table Design brings together contemporary tablescaping, sculptural design and conversation in an intimate dining experience centred on slowing down, gathering and living with intention.

Drawing on three decades with Farrow & Ball, Joa Studholme will share memories from her time with the brand, reflecting on the much-loved shades and their impact on the world of design.

The evening will offer an opportunity to hear first-hand about the stories, craft and creative thinking behind Farrow & Ball’s distinctive approach to colour.

This September, Hart Shoreditch Hotel is partnering with urban artist MOWCKA🌿 to create Sanctum of Renewal. The immersive installation will transform the hotel’s restaurant UBA into a sacred space, where matter, energy and perception are in constant flux.

Mowcka will handcraft suspended wooden forms that emerge from the ceiling and descend into the space, intertwined with soft, translucent resin petals to create an atmosphere that feels both immersive and ethereal.

Taking inspiration from Yūgen – a philosophy centred on the subtle and mysterious beauty that exists beyond what is immediately visible – the installation invites visitors to slow down and enter a more meditative state of perception, where meaning emerges gradually through presence and stillness.

Cassina returns to London Design Festival with a selection of new products from its 2026 Collection. Bringing together iconic pieces alongside contemporary projects, the collection builds on their eclectic design language, reflecting ‘The Cassina Perspective’ philosophy.

Taking centre stage is Ardys, the new modular sofa system by Art Director Patricia Urquiola, alongside Dalila, a statement piece returning from the Cassina archives.

The London showroom will also highlight Karakter x Cassina pieces, now part of Cassina’s atmospheres, alongside the Peacock Chair by Verner Panton Official, new finishes for Studio / Archivio Gianfranco Frattini’s 780/783 low tables, and designs by and Nicos Zographos.

🔎 Past Made Present spotlights the next generation of practitioners from MA Product & Furniture Design KSA, in collaboration with The Storybox Collective and National Trust at Ham House and Garden.

🪡 Crafted Futures by Design-Nation UK brings together 35 makers from across the UK at OXO Gallery Oxo Tower Wharf, showcasing contemporary British craft across ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass, wood, lighting, paper, fibre and metal.

🏛️ On 16 September, De La Warr Pavilion and the modernist explore architecture as an enabler of cultural and social change in Being Modern: London, hosted at Haworth Tompkins.

Aesthetica Magazine is a destination for art and culture. The publication is distributed across the world, offering readers in-depth features that foreground today’s most innovative practitioners across art, architecture, photography and design.

This September, Enchanted Matter: On Resonant Objects and the Life of Materials, co-curated by Qloud and SustainLab RCA for , will bring together contemporary artists to reflect on the journeys of materials and how they shape the world around us.

The exhibition explores how forests, rivers, oceans, and the atmosphere move nutrients, organic matter, and energy across the planet, revealing how actions in one place can shape life elsewhere over time.

It will also play host to Resonance, an intimate live performance by musician 𝐄𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐬, presented by Fifth String. Featuring violins dating back to 1832, the performance brings objects of craftsmanship to life as living works of art, highlighting sound, resonance, and the enduring life of materials.

Alongside the exhibition, Qloud and moleskine present a series of artist-led workshops encouraging thoughtful engagement with analogue processes and making.
