London Design Festival Next edition: 12-20 September 2026

Discover designers from across the world and join us in celebrating London as a design capital on the global stage.

London Design Festival was launched by Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE in 2003. Building on London’s existing design activity, their concept was to create an annual event that would promote the city’s creativity, drawing in the country’s greatest thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators to a deliver an unmissable celebration of design. The launch of the first Festival took place at Bloomberg on 25 March 2003, with a show of support from design, education, government and London organisations. 20 years later, this vision remains ever strong. In 2019, the Festival welcomed a record-breaking 600,000 individual visitors from over 75 countries. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2022, London Design Festival now moves into a new decade, celebrating how it has played a key role in the growth of the design industry, bolstering London’s position as a global destination for business, culture and tourism, and contributed to the UK’s reputation as a creative powerhouse. As one of the world’s leading design events, the Festival has also served as the blueprint for design weeks and festivals globally and continues to be a key moment on the cultural calendar.

Last month, Global Design Forum returned to the V&A South Kensington for three days of dialogue tackling this year’s theme, Worlds in Motion.

Guest-curated by Rhiarna Dhaliwal, the 2026 programme brought together voices from across disciplines and geographies to explore the exchange of ideas, culture and expertise, and discuss design’s potential as a catalyst for global change.

That’s a wrap on London Design Festival 2026 ☑️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring London to life over the nine days, filling the capital with a creative buzz. It simply wouldn’t happen without our supporters, sponsors, partners, friends and festival attendees.

From exhibitions and workshops to talks, launches, pop-ups and everything in between, our Partners and Design Districts transformed neighbourhoods, streets and spaces across the city for our 24th edition, celebrating all things design.

350+ events. 300+ Partners. 11 Design Districts.

We also celebrated the 2026 Medal winners and hosted the Global Design Forum, a curated thought leadership programme exploring design and the minds shaping its future.

Now our attention turns to 2027 and our 25th anniversary. 🎉

Last weekend to discover Craft x Tech Tokai Project at the V&A. ✨

Closing 30 September, the exhibition brings together six Japanese artisans from the Tokai region with six internationally acclaimed designers and artists. Together the works exemplify how centuries-old techniques can be reimagined through contemporary design.

It’s your last chance to see The Point of Unity at St Paul’s Cathedral. 🌟

Closing this Saturday 26 September, the immersive light sculpture marks the first Landmark Project ever presented on the facade of St Paul’s Cathedral for London Design Festival.

The Point of Unity by Ukrainian artist and lighting designer Mykola Kabluka , Founder and Creative Director of .net, explores how a building can hold meaning beyond its physical structure.

There’s still time to see Soul transform St Paul’s Cathedral after dark. ✨

Drawing on research into brain activity linked to daydreaming and creative thought, the installation uses light, glass and movement to create an ever-changing audiovisual experience.

Created by Ukrainian lighting designer and contemporary artist Mykola Kabluka , Founder and Creative Director of , Soul explores the moment an internal thought begins to take physical form.

While has come to an end, Soul continues until 26 September, from 20:00–23:00 – Don’t miss out!

Created through a collaboration between .design and .one, this impressive bamboo pavilion, takes inspiration from the protective scales of the pangolin.

Combining a bamboo grid shell with traditional Indian police shields and woven rain knups, the installation explores colonial legacies, power and ecological exploitation.
