Paul Simonon’s basslines made history, and she-punks like Gina Birch (The Raincoats) and Shanne Bradley (The Ni**le Erectors / The Men They Couldn't Hang) also carved out their own ferocious sonic space on four strings in 1970s London. Gina Birch is performing live with our Up Yours! Supergroup at the live showcase at Electric Brixton in October, and both artists feature in our upcoming God Save the Queens exhibition at the Museum of Youth Culture. Celebrate the bassists who rewrote the rules and enter to win a Gibson Les Paul signed by Mick, Paul, and Topper for £5.

In 1978, 100,000 people marched to Victoria Park for the iconic Rock Against Racism Carnival. Sharing that historic stage to take a stand against fascism were The Clash and Poly Styrene with X-Ray Spex. X-Ray Spex and The Clash knew music was a weapon for unity, equality, and radical change. To honour that legacy, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, and Topper Headon have signed a Gibson Les Paul Special DC to support our non-profit God Save The Queens festival and exhibition, celebrating 50 years of she punk!
