🎉 London, thank you for joining us around the table.

After a brilliant run at , Hot Pot is now heading out on tour, with some wonderful words from audiences and reviewers.

Operation Live Theatre called it “a strong start for Auka Productions”, while Once a Week Theatre praised the care in both the preparation and presentation, calling Hot Pot “satisfying fare”.

Now, the pot is still simmering, and we are bringing the show to more audiences across the UK.

★★★★ Theatre Weekly called it “a brilliant example of how new writing can start powerful conversations” and said Hot Pot “not only stands up, it stands out.”

★★★★ Red Bus Londinium Life praised the production’s exploration of friendship, identity, memory and belonging.

Operation Live Theatre described Hot Pot as “a strong start for Auka Productions.”

The wait is almost over! 🔥

Hot Pot 火锅 opens tomorrow at , and we can’t wait to finally share this beautiful, funny and deeply human story with audiences.

In this video, director Namoo Chae Lee reflects on the process of bringing Hongwei Bao’s play to life, after three weeks of rehearsals, conversations, discoveries and a lot of care in the room.

A story about friendship, identity, belonging and the connections that shape us, Hot Pot 火锅 has been simmering beautifully, and tomorrow it finally meets its first audience. 🍲✨

Meet Michelle Yim as Lin and Windson Liong as Tao in Hot Pot 火鍋.

Tao has been away for a long time. Lin is nervous to see everyone again. What begins as a reunion between old friends slowly becomes an evening full of warmth, awkwardness, memory and everything left unsaid.

👋 Meet Auka Productions.

We’re a brand new London-based theatre company with a stubborn belief in the magic and power of live performance.

Our name carries the places and people that shaped us: AU for Australia, UK for the place we now call home, and KA, from the Hakka Chinese dialect word for home.

For us, Auka is about belonging. It is about the idea that home is not always one fixed place. It can be something we build together, through the stories we tell, the people we gather, and the heart and soul we put into the work.

Our logo (designed by the wonderful Ric Liu) reflects that too. The circle represents the world we live in, while the letters come together to form something bigger than themselves. Different identities, different journeys, one shared creative home.

We are here to champion new writing, collaborate with other theatre makers, and help bring bold stories from page to stage.
