Delighted to share the news that The String Theatre is putting on a fabulous, inclusive family puppet show in the Community Hub at Parkside Yards.

The Bear That Wasn’t is a playful and visually striking puppetry show, featuring hand-carved wooden marionettes, hand-painted sets and original music. It follows a young bear who is mistaken for a new worker in a busy robot-run factory, exploring themes of identity, nature and imagination.

Of particular relevance for families with additional needs, the production includes audio description and a touch tour for blind and partially sighted audience members, as well as provision for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences.

Join Ewa in the Pots & Things studio for some pottery painting on Saturday 1 August between 11.30am and 5pm.

It’s proper family fun and the price includes your chosen item, all materials and firing. Drop in and join in the fun.

Ewa is not only a skilled and experienced ceramicist and pottery painter, she is a puppeteer and puppet maker from Poland. She’s worked at the Little Angel Theatre in London.
Her work is inspired by storytelling, craftsmanship, and the belief that art has the power to connect people of all ages and abilities.
