In Gazza his only dream was just to survive each day, and now in the UK he comes to me designing a pool table out of our dining table. Every single child in this world deserves to live in safety, grow up in peace, and have the freedom to dream silly childhood dreams like this. Watching him laugh and plan big projects instead of fearing for his life is the greatest blessing. Welcome to our new home… literally 🌊🏠🍉

I’m reposting this because every time I watch it, it makes me smile 😂❤️ So I wanted to share this beautiful, chaotic moment with you all again!

We thought we were finally settling in until the kitchen sink decided to give us a surprise swimming lesson 💦😂

The kids scrambling, everyone getting soaked, and absolute chaos everywhere, definitely a memory we won’t forget!

We’re so grateful for our 47K community for being here through the ups, downs, and very wet moments ❤️

My name is Yasser. I was a senior software engineer in Gaza, and I spent years building my career, my business, and a future for my family.

Before everything changed, I bought land worth around $700,000 and built our dream home, which cost more than £300,000. I also built a software company that I was incredibly proud of.

I lost all of it.

I lost over £1 million worth of assets, and I was also left with more than £100,000 in debt.

But the money and the things I owned are not what hurt the most. I lost more than 20 members of my family, including my sister, my brother, and two brothers-in-law. I also had to leave my parents behind.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful that my wife, my children, and I are safe in the UK. ❤️

Despite everything we’ve been through, I’m still choosing to look forward. I want to rebuild my career, build another successful business, and use it to support my family and help the people I love who are still suffering.

I lost a lot. But I didn’t lose hope.

Like father like son, I created a mini me version of myself and now I have to compete with him in my own kitchen 😂 Left the grapes on the counter for two minutes and he wiped the plate completely clean.
