One year on from starting my portrait of Maharaja Duleep Singh, I'm more determined than ever to see it through! Life got busy with the baby, but now she's off on her first full day out, giving me the chance to dive back into painting.

Painting by the river while little guy is napping in the car. Its a pretty grey day but I’ve decided to add some blue sky. I should have woken him up by now but I’m really enjoying the peace 🙈.

Starting to add some skin colour!
I haven’t had time to paint for ages and realised I’ve been avoiding the face so I decided to go for it this evening. Faces are hard and even harder when they are tiny! I need to buy more small brushes!

The 1st Feb prompt was ‘my creative work’ (I got a little delayed):

✨My Creative Work✨

I make oil paintings and sometimes watercolour paintings based on places I go or things I see.
I don’t manage to paint outdoors at the moment so I love taking loads of pics and painting when I’m home. I’m usually up painting between 10pm and 1am. Doing something creative is always very calming for me! I’m based in West London so there are plenty of green spaces to inspire me.
