WIP WEDNESDAY at Knit With Me and again we are all in sock mode. We have Tea Cake + Make | Nicola Furey and Shannon Long sock kits with ammyknits working on their County Home Night Time set and working on their Pumkin Harvert set. All our collab kits are available on our website. I am working on my Sunday Stroll Socks by Sari Nordlund using De Rerum Natura Alice. ๐‚๐‹๐Ž๐‚๐‡๐„๐“ and Alison Hellyer are sure to post what they are working on too and I canโ€™t wait to see them.

Love these ladies!!!!! They visit together and knit together. Sometimes they knit the same pattern. Other times different patterns from each other. But we love that they always come back to show us so we can see what the yarn has turned into.

It was an absolute delight to welcome Julie and Tracy from Cocoknits to the shop on Saturday with their lovely retreat group members for an evening of drinks, yarn chat and all things Cocoknits.

My first ever knit-a-along was for the Franca Cardigan which is a design by Julie and I immediately fell in love with this method of top-down knitting. Being my first knit-a-long, my Franca obviously holds a warm place in my heart. I remember Julie joining us all on Zoom and I found her to be incredibly warm and welcoming. She is exactly as I remembered when we caught up on the weekend.

EXCITING NEWS ALERT Julie Weisenberger, the creative brain behind Cocoknits and the Cocoknits method will be visiting Knit With Me in Richmond tomorrow afternoon (Sat 10th Oct 26) from around 2pm for a little meet and greet. We are just a little excited.

Julie will have some of her samples with her for you to look at and will be available to answer any questions you may have about the designs and this clever way of knitting top down sweaters, cardigans and tees.

If you havenโ€™t heard of the Cocoknits method, in summary itโ€™s a way of knitting garments whilst trying them on as you go and then customising the fit. It combines English tailoring, seamless top down knitting and the use of the ingenious signature Cocoknits worksheet. Think fitted tailored shoulders with garments that hang beautifully.

It's finished, blocked and dry and I am in love โค๏ธ

My Lash Lash sweater by Anne Ventzel knit using Gepard Garn HorSilke held with Kumula for both the MC and CC. I made a size 2 using the recommended needles in the pattern and it's perfect. It feels just incredible. Perfect balance of softness and weight. The only mod I made was I made mine slightly shorter by one repeat in comparison to the sample photos due to my short torso.

I took some quick photos before our sock workshop yesterday as so many of you were asking about it but will get a better one taken soon.

Welcome to Knit With Me Socktober Social! We will be meeting on Zoom Monday evenings to knit socks together, ask questions, chat and enjoy each other's company. This is our third year of hosting this and it's always so much fun! Sign up on the Website for free and receive the link that will go out later today.

The KWM team will each be making socks from our collab with the incredible Nicola of Tea Cake + Make | Nicola Furey and Shannon of Shannon Long and you can grab your own collab kit and join us. You have your own sock yarn but looking for Inspo? Lots of books and patterns available on the website as well as lots of lovely sock yarns if nothing in stash.

I can't believe it's been 3 years already and what a 3 years. So many knits, conversations, new friends, laughs, classes, events and a growing community of creative and lovely people.

What is your favourite memory over the last 3 years with KWM. We would love to hear about them all.

Also there has been a little discussion between us all about when our actual birthday is lol. We did a soft launch and opened our doors on 28th September 2023 that we didn't advertise, just to check the lights went on and the till worked. Then we had our main opening event on 30th September 2023. Not sure which should be our actual birthday day so we decided to celebrate today in-between the two. Which day do you think we should celebrate on?

We miraculously managed to get more mini and small Inkari Alpaca back in stock and they are going fast. That's because the minute you touch one you can't put it down. These sell out each year with limited availability and we completely understand why!

Over the past 7 years Inkari has created a community of over 100 families from Peru who work together to grow and improve all of the livelihoods inside the community including the animals and the farmers.
