Do you ever feel like you've hit that brick wall
As you know you've done enough to succeed
Yet you're still awaiting there at square one
You're still fighting to fix those same problems
That haunted you on the first page of your story

Because I'm tired of turning page after page
Only to read the same chapter each time
Like when does my story start developing
When do i become the main character
Instead of lifting everyone else's baggage
~
Why does it feel like I'm only a echo in the dark
A background story to help others move ahead
Why am i only a stepping stone across the lake
One that's thrown within simply to sink
Just to make sure everyone else doesn't drown

Why do i have to face the waves at full strength
While everyone else stays safely on the shore
Happily building sandcastles there in the sand
Sharing marmalade sandwiches cut in triangles
While I'm stuck within the same viscous circle
