Are you a filmmaker based in Manchester or the surrounding area? We’re now accepting submissions for our upcoming short film showcase celebrating local talent and bold storytelling.

We’re looking for original short films of all genres — drama, documentary, experimental, animation, and beyond. Whether you’re an emerging voice or an experienced creator, this is your chance to have your work screened in front of a live audience and connect with fellow creatives.

The screening will take place on June 8th 2026.

Submission Details:
• Open to filmmakers with a connection to Manchester
• Short films only (max runtime: 30 minutes)
• All genres welcome
• Deadline to apply: May 18th 2026

Selected films will be featured at our showcase event, followed by a networking opportunity for all filmmakers and attendants.

We’re excited to unveil our Official Longlist ahead of next week’s winner announcement. Congratulations to these 16 standout projects, and thank you to every filmmaker who trusted us with their work.

The 7th edition of the One Fluid Night International LGBTQIA+ Film Festival is happening 7–11 April across London.
