Introducing the creative team for “Bruises” by Hannah Martin.

Director - Jessie-Wren Jacobs

Jessie-Wren Jacobs is a London-based writer, director, and theatre-maker whose work explores gender, sexuality, and power. A graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama’s MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media (2025), she writes across stage and screen with a focus on feminist narratives.
Her recent work includes The Quickening (Wigtown Book Festival, 2025), a trilogy of short plays examining witchcraft, sexuality, and resistance across generations; Baby I’m Burning (Sláinte! Theatre, 2025); and This Prno Does Not Pass the Bechdel Test (Greenside @ Riddle’s Court, Edinburgh Fringe 2024), which received ★★★★ reviews and sold-out performances.

Ava - Paloma Hill

Paloma is a London based actor and graduate of GSA. Since graduating she has worked on multiple stage projects such as ‘Inferna’ at Riverside Studios and ‘Who The F**k is Cynthia’ at the Golden Goose Theatre, and various screen work including short films and commercials. Paloma has a strong passion for physical theatre and storytelling and has been involved with a number of R&Ds and workshops, including for her own play ‘Black Waves’, which was performed at the Union Theatre last year

Jack - Max Torin

Max is an British/Irish actor and recent graduate from the BA: Acting course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
After playing the lead role in his graduate show at Central, Max started working as a voice artist, dubbing the Amazon Prime movie ‘Tell Me Softly’ and playing the lead role in the Spotify comedy series ‘A Fox’s Guide To De-Urbanisation’. Max recently worked as voice artist with Simon Callow on the feature film ‘About a Bell’.
Max also trained in Musical Theatre, and enjoys singing, playing guitar and dancing.
Whilst in training, some of Max’s credits include; Florizel (The Winters Tale)- Gilbert Chilvers (Betty Blue Eyes)- Drew (Straight white Men)- Henrik (A Little Night Music)- Bianca (Taming of the Shrew)- Messenger (Medea).

Archie - Tommy Tancock

Tommy is an actor from Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire who graduated from East15 Acting School in 2022.

Scott Afton

Scott Afton is an actor and a graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Recent stage credits include, Deeper & Deeper (Union Theatre), The Key (White Bear Theatre), Mycorrhiza (SPACE Arts Centre)

Recent screen credits include, Two Weeks in August (BBC),
Autopsy: The Last Hours of Dale Earnhardt Jnr (Channel 5)

His recent writing credits for theatre include “This is a Robbery?” for The Golden Goose Theatre and “Unstable Connection” with the Traverse Theatre.

Harry Al-Adwani

Harry trained in Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, with the Judi Dench/Andy Stewart Scholarship.

He has appeared in various stage productions, such as Waving (Etcetera Theatre), Pilgrimage (Old Red Lion Theatre), Taking Orders (Old Red Lion Theatre) and Prodigy (The Other Palace). Screen credits include No Crying on Sundays (Short), Edging (TV Pilot) and Lady Eleanor’s Portrait (Short).

Heather MacInnes

Heather is a Scottish creative from Paisley, now based in London. She studied Drama, Applied Theatre and Performance at the University of East London. Alongside developing her own creative work, she has worked as a Production Coordinator with British Youth Music Theatre mounting new musicals in venues across the UK including Southwark Playhouse. Birmingham Hippodrome, Dundee Rep and Theatre Royal Plymouth. She now works at Stage One, the charity supporting commercial theatre producers through training programmes, bursaries and investment.

Hannah Clancy-Hughes is a London-based actor and writer from Dublin, Ireland. She has trained at The Lir Academy (Actors’ Ensemble) and Bow Street Academy (Screen Acting). Her writing explores themes of identity, connection, and gender, navigating these through a comedic and improvisational lens to find the humour in the painfully honest. Her debut play, GNO, is inspired by the raw and complicated nature of modern relationships.

Calum is a Scottish writer-director, currently based in London. Whilst having experience writing for screen and short-form, his focus over the past few years has turned back to where he first fell in love with creative - the theatre. Credits include ‘Edging’ (The Old Red Lion, London), ‘Taking Orders’ (The Old Red Lion, London) and ‘How To Kill Your Landlord’ (The Drayton Arms, London & Bedlam Theatre, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe). He is really excited to continue developing his new play ‘Three Peaks’ after its first read through as part of FreshFest 2026 earlier this year.

Announcing our writers for our upcoming scratch night next month at Golden Goose Theatre, first up: Hannah Martin!

Hannah is a writer from South London with a love for dark comedies and bold, character driven narrative. Previous writing credits include Budgie (Theatre Peckham), Kitchen Sink (Brighton Fringe) Behind The Tracks (Canada Water Theatre & Workshopped at Kings Head Theatre), Sorting Out (The Golden Goose) and The Rota (Central School of Speech and Drama.) She is a graduate of the MA Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media course at Central School for Speech and Drama, where she developed her new play, Bruises. Before writing, Hannah trained as an actor at Fourth Monkey and The BRIT School, where an early version of Kitchen Sink premiered at New Wimbledon Theatre.

At our scratch night, 3 writers will present two scenes from a piece of work: their first scene and their last of a work in progress play. It was our first ever event we ran and we’re bringing it back just for our birthday!

Our Femme and Non-Binary Short Plays Night starts TONIGHT at 7.30! Our final piece is ‘East to West’ by Jessica Clark, co-directed by Morgan Chalmers and Olivia Millar-Ross, starring Izzy Kate Ward and Moesha Keswani. Your FINAL CHANCE to get tickets is NOW through the link in our bio!

East to West is a q***r love story told in rhymed spoken word, whose protagonists are based on opposite sides of London. Nell, an aspiring poet and part-time teacher, looks through dating apps for a balm for the isolation induced by chronic illness. Asha sizes up East London’s cool trendiness against her native Mumbai and misses the family she left behind there, from whom her q***r identity remains a secret.

Morgan Chalmers is an emerging director from Scotland whose debut production, F*ckboy Fairytales, enjoyed a hit run at the Etcetera Theatre. Since then, she has spent time working with the creative team at the National Theatre and is co-writing a new Celtic play. Passionate about telling stories that matter, Morgan is especially drawn to creating work that celebrates and centres modern female voices.

Olivia Millar-Ross is theatre director and actor from Glasgow. She trained at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU (BFA, 2014) and graduated with Distinction from the University of Glasgow having completed her Common Law (Accelerated) LLB, 2022. As Director; The Bench (a CaroleW Productions and Gala Durham co-production). As Associate Director; Art (Joshua Beaumont and Original Theatre), Catafalque (Scissor Kick), Silence (Tara Theatre). As Assistant Director; Dancing Shoes, Medea on the Mic (A Play, A Pie and A Pint), Sugar Coat (Southwark Playhouse), Exodus (National Theatre of Scotland).

Izzy Kate Ward is a London-based actor who trained at at The Oxford School of Drama, and who recently performed her self-written and produced drag king show called ‘Mr P from HR’ at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025.

Moesha Keswani is British Indian performer and writer, trained with the National Youth Theatre, currently pursing part-time acting training while performing stand-up comedy across London
