There's a method in this madness. So they tell me.

I drew this years ago and came across it today.
I sketched it from life—holding my left hand steady while I worked with the other. Funny how much you move when you’re trying not to.

My first exposure to palmistry was in junior school—some classmate read my hand and told me a future I’ve long since forgotten. But something about it stuck.

Later, when I got into hypnotherapy (💫fun fact: I'm a qualified clinical hypnotherapist and NLP master), I circled back to palmistry. And numerology. And bought myself a million books on the topics.
I’ve always been drawn to understanding how people work.

Not in a mystical, “what’s your destiny?” kind of way.
Well—maybe a bit.
Do we already have more answers than we think?

Sometimes I think our hands say more than we realise.
Especially when we figure out we’re the ones holding the pen—and start learning how to use it.

As the calendar moves into the season of new growth and fresh starts, this old favourite pen and ink tree sketch feels like the perfect way to mark the end of a lovely chapter.

My time teaching at has wrapped up — and I’m so grateful for the students, the laughter, and the creativity we shared each week.

Now I’m starting something new: my own art classes and projects, grown from scratch and shaped by everything I’ve loved about teaching — along with a few extras that students said they’d have liked included.

If you'd like to hear more about upcoming workshops and classes, just drop me a message — I’d love to keep you posted as my plans develop. And if there’s something you’ve always wished adult art classes included, feel free to share! You’re welcome to comment here or send me a DM — I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

Here’s to new beginnings, strong roots, and plenty more painting.

This fun little piece used up the leftover paint in my palette and painting’s unsung hero popped out.

Normally, the usable leftover acrylic paint goes into "The Tub" - an airtight container where I mix all the leftovers to create a lovely neutral that's great for toning and underpainting.

What do you do with yours?

Art, like cooking, is all about the layers! 🎨✨

Had the pleasure of showing some of my latest art at a local exhibition today.

In clockwise order, I present watercolour seagulls, acrylic flowers. oil pastel portrait, acrylic coastal house and a charcoal horse.

Thank you for hosting such a special event. It was lovely mingling with all the artists and their guests.

PS: Can't lie - the special mention of my art has had me smiling all day 😃

PPS: Some would say I'm nuts for posting at 9pm on a Saturday night.... but tbh, my reach here is shot anyway! I think they want me to buy ads and I may have to!
