According to Bleszinski, Microsoft’s aim was to take the series back to its gothic horror roots, something which I’ve been hoping for. In the original game, the Locust were treated more like horror monsters, and sections like evading a Berserker or dashing from light source to light source to avoid Krill were treated as terrifying scenarios rather than bombastic set pieces.
