OPENING TOMORROW!

10 JULY - 29 AUGUST

"What happens when the smile starts to crack?"

Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy winner Christine Lahti makes her London stage debut in her acclaimed autobiographical play.

How well do we ever really know our parents?

As children, they seem larger than life. As adults, we begin to see them differently.

In this funny, tender and deeply moving solo performance, Christine Lahti looks back on the childhood that shaped her, revisiting family memories with humour, honesty and extraordinary compassion. As long-held certainties begin to unravel, she discovers that growing up isn't just about understanding ourselves - it's about finally understanding the people who raised us.

At once intimate and universal, The Smile of Her is a celebration of mothers and daughters, family, forgiveness and the stories that echo across generations.

OUR PUBLIC HOUSE
30 JUNE - 4 JULY

Don't miss this funny and heartwarming play About what happens when your voices take centre stage and those with influence start to listen.

It’s local re-election time and MP Mary is buzzing. In the last round everyone spoiled their vote. They felt unheard and wanted to show those in power that they weren’t to be taken for granted. She’s not going to let that happen again

As Mary joins people gathered together in the local pub,
conversations start. Jokes are thrown in. Ideals clash. There’s singing on tables! Love blossoms. And something starts to shift…

Told through spoken English, British Sign Language (BSL), Sign Supported English(SSE), creative captioning and with original live music.

THE SMILE OF HER, written by and starring Christine Lahti, directed by Mêlisa Annis

Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy winner Christine Lahti brings her acclaimed new play The Smile of Her to London for a strictly limited run at the Marylebone Theatre.

Funny, furious and achingly personal, this extraordinary autobiographical work traces a woman’s journey from 1950s suburban America to the heart of a changing world — confronting family mythology, misogyny, ambition, motherhood and the cost of being “a good girl.”

Performed by Lahti herself in a tour-de-force role, The Smile of Her is a bold, deeply human exploration of the stories we inherit, the voices we silence and the fight to reclaim ourselves.

Following his sell-out performance of Venus and Adonis, Mark Rylance returns to the Marylebone Theatre to star in Tartuffe (Remixed), a new version of Moliere’s classic comedy, written and directed by Darren Raymond.

Relocated to an African-Caribbean household in modern England, Tartuffe Remixed is a deliciously biting comedy in rhyming couplets, which brings both new humour and modern pathos to the original text

Tartuffe (Remixed) is a a co-production between Marylebone Theatre and David Luff and Patrick Myles in partnership with Intermission, the graduate ensemble of Intermission Youth, of which Darren Raymond is the Artistic Director and Mark Rylance has been a long-term patron and advocate.
