Next week, NXTGENbps will be at the Sustainable Screen Supplier Open Day at Progressive Broadcast Hire in Glasgow.

Jono will be there with a selection of our batteries, giving visitors the chance to see the technology up close and ask questions about using battery power on set.

He’ll also be giving a talk on sustainable power, looking at how productions can reduce generator use and make cleaner power part of the way they work.

England’s rivers, lakes and coastal waters remain under significant pressure, according to the Environment Agency’s latest assessment.

Only around one in seven water bodies were classed as being in good ecological condition, while none passed the separate assessment for chemical pollution. Persistent chemicals, heavy metals, sewage and agricultural runoff are among the pressures affecting water quality, reinforcing the wider case for reducing reliance on fossil fuels wherever possible.

Researchers have found that the critically endangered Old Irish Goat shares its strongest genetic connection with goats that lived in Ireland during the Late Bronze Age. Its lineage spans around 3,000 years.

The discovery connects the surviving breed directly to Ireland’s agricultural history. It also adds urgency to conservation efforts, as today’s small population shows signs of recent inbreeding following a major decline.
