Heading to Pirate Rave at Battersea Barge on 9 August? Here’s the general access information you need to know before you arrive ⚓️

We know it’s always nice to know what to expect, especially if it’s your first time visiting the venue, so here’s a quick guide to help you plan your day.

The event takes place aboard Battersea Barge, a permanently moored floating venue on the River Thames. Although it’s on a boat, it doesn’t leave the dock during the event, so you’ll be enjoying all the pirate ship atmosphere without setting sail.

The venue is split across three levels. The lower deck is home to the dancefloor, DJs and toilets. The middle deck is where you’ll find the bar, with plenty of space to grab a drink, food and catch up with friends, and you’re welcome to take your drinks between decks. The upper deck is the perfect spot if you fancy a break from dancing, want some fresh air or just want to enjoy the view over the river.

Please note that once you’ve entered the venue, re-entry isn’t available, so make sure you’ve got everything you need before coming aboard. Don’t forget to bring a valid photo ID, and remember that outside food and drinks aren’t permitted.

If you’re planning on dressing up, we’d absolutely love to see it. Pirate looks, sea witches, undead sailors and all kinds of nautical chaos are encouraged, but there’s no pressure at all. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, we’re just excited to have you there!

Accessibility: Battersea Barge is a historic floating venue, which means access between decks is via stairs. If you have any accessibility questions or specific requirements before attending, please get in touch with our access manager ahead of the event and we’ll do our best to help.

Whether you’re joining us for your first Necropolis or you’re already part of the crew, we can’t wait to welcome you aboard for a full day of dark disco, darkwave, EBM, techno, new beat and everything in between.

See you on 9 August! 🖤

On 9 August, giving a pirate makeover for a daytime rave. Think pirate flags, hidden corners, dark vibes and a dancefloor full of the best dressed crew in town.

The boat has three decks, so there’s plenty of space to explore throughout the day.

Lower Deck – this is where the party happens. All of our DJs will be playing here, so if you’re here for the music, this is your spot. You’ll also find the toilets down here, so everything you need is close to the dancefloor.

Middle Deck – this is where the bar is. Grab yourself a drink, catch up with friends, then head back to the dancefloor whenever you’re ready. You’re welcome to take your drinks with you to any of the decks.

Upper Deck – the perfect place to take a breather, enjoy the views, get some fresh air or just hang out for a bit before diving back into the party.

A quick reminder, the boat isn’t sailing anywhere. It’s staying docked all day, so you get all the pirate ship vibes without any seasickness.

As for the dress code, there isn’t one.
If you’ve got a pirate fit, sea witch look, mermaid, siren, undead sailor costume or anything hiding in your wardrobe, this is your excuse to wear it. If costumes aren’t your thing, that’s completely fine too. Come in whatever makes you feel comfortable. Our crowd loves dressing up, but the most important thing is that you’re here having a good time 🖤

A few things to keep in mind before you arrive:
Entry is one time only. Once you’ve come on board, re entry isn’t available, so if you leave the venue, you won’t be able to come back in. Make sure you’ve got everything you need before you arrive.

Please bring a valid photo ID. You’ll need it to enter, so don’t forget it.

No outside food or drinks are permitted on board. The bar will be open throughout the event with food and drinks available all day.

Pirate fits, mermaids, sea witches, ghost sailors, cursed captains, honestly, the weirder the better. Costumes are encouraged, but if dressing up isn’t your thing, just come as you are.

Also, before someone asks... no, the boat isn’t leaving the dock. You get all the pirate ship energy without having to fight for your life in the sea.

Bring your crew, make questionable decisions on the dancefloor, disappear for five minutes, come back with ten new best friends, and leave with a camera roll full of “you had to be there” moments.

See you on deck ⚓

Must do in London: Necropolis Festival ⛪️

If you’re goth, alternative, into techno, or just love discovering unique places in the city, you need to check out

Set inside an old church, the atmosphere is something completely different. It’s the perfect mix of historic surroundings, underground music, and a crowd of people who are there to enjoy the moment.

No strict dress code, come however you feel comfortable, whether that’s full alternative style or just yourself. We encourage creativity and our crowd loves to dress up but the main thing is coming for the music and respecting everyone around you.

The whole idea is about creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where everyone can be themselves, just good energy, good music, and people coming together.

We were chosen one of London’s most unusual raves by National Geographic, so if you want something beyond the usual club experience, Necropolis should be on your list! 🖤
