Stefan is always a joy to draw, 2.5 hour session today drawn with willow charcoal, generals and a bit of Russian sauce.

I thought it would be wickedly hilarious to add the devil/demon into one of my paintings of while teaching on our composition course although I felt like I had a bit of an awkward angle to paint from compositionally I feel like adding something in the background helped a bit. How many faces can you make out in the background? I intentionally put more than one.

Had such an amazing time painting last year. I’m clearly very slow on the uploads but here it is. I believe I had about 2 sessions for this one.

I’ve never tried sculpting before so I thought it was time to try my hand at it, started off with a small little Nosferatu head which was really fun to sculpt! I’m sure there’s lots I could learn and improve on. I used a mixture of clay that dries to a stone finish and mixed in a bit of terracotta clay. Not quite sure why but I think the mixture of the two came out kinda fun looking along with leaving it looking a little rough and textured to go with the character.

Had an awesome evening drawing/painting Chi Chi and playing with more Russian Sauce. The versatility of it has got me excited to draw way more in these evening sessions as well as thinking about design a little more.

Had so much fun drawing today, the first drawing was done in the last hour and a half and the next reddish/brown was a couple of hours. I actually did the red one first and was fairly happy with it but had too much time to spare till the end of the day so I decided to do a second one which I thought was way more successful. Also had fun making Aspen more gothy and moody. It’s definitely a far better likeless where as the first one he looks like Augustus Gloop. I do think I needed to go through the process of drawing the first one to then get to the result of the second where I didn’t care as much as just wanted to much around.

Combination of Russian sauce used, pastel pencil and white crayon.

Slowly getting around to posting my work, old and new. Portrait of Stephan done at painter of 4 sessions it’s been so nice to be able to control the length of projects and just have free reign to experiment as I wish. Thank you so much to Stephan for sitting for us, it was an absolute joy!
