London Mayor Sadiq Khan has joined New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani in calling for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be arrested if he enters their cities.

Khan delivered a blunt message, saying that people accused of committing genocide should not expect to be welcomed in London.

His statement adds to growing international pressure on Netanyahu and raises a major question about whether powerful political leaders should be treated differently when serious allegations of war crimes or genocide are involved.

Supporters of Khan’s position argue that international law must apply equally to everyone, regardless of rank, nationality, or political influence. They believe that ignoring such accusations would weaken the entire system of global justice.

Critics, however, may view the demand as politically motivated and argue that any arrest should depend strictly on legal rulings and official warrants.

Still, the message from Khan and Mamdani is clear: political power should not provide immunity from accountability.

When leaders are accused of the gravest crimes imaginable, the world cannot simply look away.
