Mother Song

Mother song is for new mums to gather and sing simple songs in harmony for the benefit of their own and babies wellbeing.

Mother Song connects new mums and soon to be mums through song. Simple harmonies sung together in unison or parts, provide a soothing aural experience for both mother and baby. Together we sing lullabies, folk, gospel, African and sacred songs - all taught by ear. It’s the mothers that sing and the babies bathe in all the delicious sounds around them. These songs can then be sung independently to

calm mother and baby throughout the week. Collectively we honour our emotions, cycles and changes as we share breath, voice, and hearts. Letting go of any judgement and expectation as to how we ‘should’ sound or be, arriving exactly as we find ourselves in the moment. We cultivate self-compassion, acceptance, and friendship. The venues have been carefully selected for its acoustics and atmosphere. All voices are welcome, whether you are new to singing or have been singing for years. I offer two free spaces to those who need it, no questions asked, get in touch if this is you. Based in East London, with weekly sessions in Bow and Haggerston. I’ll be leading Mother Song on Sunday at 10am .woman.gathering it’s not too late to come along if you feel called. We’ll be in the field from Friday to Monday (some arriving on Thursday) there are also day tickets available. Can’t wait to sing with you. 💕

Hello 👋🏻 I’m Martina, this is me last week on a boat. I love exploring and connecting. Learning about who I am, who others are and how we all fit together. I also love music, very much, it gives me comfort and perspective. And each day there is something new to learn or discover. I never regret spending time singing, playing piano, learning songs. Clocked up the steps today, dropping flyers across East London, and in many parks. On the hunt for anyone with bumps and little babies. So many cuties and what a glorious day to do it now I’m off home to put my feet up and have a well deserved cup of tea. There are still places for this weeks sessions so pop along if you’d like to come and sing. X

I want to invite you to Mother Song in Bow and Haggerston.

Mother Song are singing groups for 'soon to be' and new mums, we meet weekly in Bow and Haggerston and sing simple songs together, sometimes in unison, rounds or harmony. The repertoire is gathered from around the world from lullabies, folk, gospel, African and sacred songs.
All voices/levels welcome, songs are taught by ear. We invite you to connect with each other through sound, forge new friendships and allow space to turn up as you are. Summer term runs 23rd & 25th May to 27th & 29th July.

Had a fantastic weekend in the woods with this little one (my friend .with.xenia ‘s newest edition to the planet. She’s four months old and full of the joy of life, everyday is a brand new discover and she has the cutest dimples! We held a vocal warm up together and she stole the show… she loved the vocal exercises and bathed in the sonic waves we created. Mother Song starts in a few weeks excited to meet all you lovely mums and babies. Pass this page on to someone who might need it, it’s a great way to connect with other mums in the area. We meet in Bow and Haggerston weekly.

Excited to let you know about Mother Song launching. Summer term starts this May. Join us at St Pauls Old Ford, E3 5JL in Bow on Tuesdays at 11 am starting on the 23rd May and Sundial Community Centre, E2 7RU just off Columbia Road Haggerston on Thursdays at 9.20am, starting on the 25th May. Please come along, all voices and levels welcome. And feel free to share with any one who might benefit from some singing. There is a reduced rate of £6 for your first session, bookable via Happity, type in Mother Song and the options will pop up. Simple songs sung by mums, grans, dads, carers together or in parts. Creating a soothing aural experience for bump & baby. We sing lullabies, folk, gospel, African and sacred songs - all taught by ear. The acoustics in the venues are gorgeous. ❤️

Held my first group singing event in Hyde Park, London for Earth Day Sing 🌍 with We shared a song I love, celebrating Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai, who founded the Green Belt Movement in Kenya, which planted 30M trees 🌳 she was an incredible women who empowered other women to make small actions stack up to one large incredible movement. It was an honour to share her song and her story. I look forward to sharing this song with you at our Mother Song sessions starting in May. Here is one our younger attendees having a blast. He really loved the attention and energy of the day. He dropped off as soon as the singing ended! 💤
