🎃 A Little Halloween Magic – My Surprise Bags 👻

Halloween has always been one of those times of year that gets my creative side going. The autumn colours, pumpkins, spooky decorations and darker evenings make me want to sit down and start making things.

This year, I wanted to do something a little different with Rose Crafts — and that’s where my idea for Halloween Surprise Bags came from. 🎁🧡

Rose Crafts isn’t just about making and selling things for me. It’s something that’s become really personal. Being creative gives me somewhere to switch off from everything else going on around me. When life or work feels overwhelming, sitting down and creating something can give me that little bit of calm I need.

That’s why every little thing I make has a bit of me behind it.

With my Halloween Surprise Bags, I don’t just want to throw a few things into a bag. I want to enjoy choosing everything, putting the different goodies together and imagining someone’s face when they open it and discover what’s hiding inside. 👻

There might be Halloween stickers, handmade goodies, spooky little treats and a few surprises along the way. No two bags need to be exactly the same — that’s part of the fun.

I love the idea that something I’ve created at home could end up making somebody smile.

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that can brighten someone’s day. A little surprise. Something handmade. Something they weren’t expecting.

And that’s really what I want these bags to be about. 🧡

As Rose Crafts continues to grow, I’m learning all the time. Not every idea works perfectly first time, and sometimes I doubt myself, but I’m proud that I keep creating and trying new things.

So here’s to another little idea becoming real.

My table will probably soon be covered in pumpkins, stickers, bags, ribbons and Halloween bits everywhere — but I wouldn’t have it any other way! 😂🎃

I can’t wait to start putting my Halloween Surprise Bags together and sharing a little bit of Rose Crafts Halloween magic with you.

Made with creativity, care and a little spooky magic. 🎃👻🧡

Love,
Rose Crafts 🌹

Why Rose Crafts Came About 🌹

Rose Crafts isn’t just a name to me. It’s something that has grown with me through different parts of my life, including some of the hardest times.

I’ve always been a creative person. From being young, I loved making things with my hands, visiting museums and art galleries with my family and coming home feeling inspired by everything I’d seen. Creativity has always been somewhere I can escape to and just be myself.

I’ve made handmade cards for years, but I never really imagined that my little hobby would become something that meant so much to me.

Then Covid happened.

Suddenly, life completely changed. I was working as a key worker in retail while everything around us felt uncertain. Going into work every day while people were being told to stay at home was something I’ll never forget. At the same time, I couldn’t see my family and friends in the way I normally would.

There were days when it was really difficult.

That’s when my crafting became more important than ever.

I’d sit down with my card-making things and, for a little while, everything else disappeared. I could concentrate on choosing the colours, putting designs together and creating something that might eventually make somebody else smile.

With card shops closed during lockdown, people started asking me to make cards for them.

And that’s when Rose Crafts really started to grow.

Every time somebody bought one of my cards, I felt proud. It wasn’t about how much money I’d made or how many cards I’d sold. It was knowing that somebody had chosen something I’d created with my own hands to give to someone they cared about.

That meant more to me than people probably realised.

Crafting gave me something positive to hold onto during a strange and difficult time. When everything else felt uncertain, I could sit at my little crafting space and create.

And Rose Crafts became my little piece of happiness. 🌹

Looking back now, I realise it was never just about making cards.

It was about finding something that made me happy. It was about getting through difficult days. It was about believing in my creativity and having the confidence to share something I’d made with other people.

Every card I’ve made has a little bit of my personality in it, and every person who has ever bought something from Rose Crafts has been part of the journey.

So, to everyone who supported me, bought one of my cards, shared my work or simply told me to keep going — thank you.

You helped turn something I loved doing into something incredibly special to me.

Rose Crafts came from creativity, grew through difficult times and became part of who I am.

And wherever it goes from here, I’ll always be proud of where it started. 🌹❤️

A Brilliant Day at the National Railway Museum in York. : During my visit to York, I spent the day exploring the National Railway Museum. It was a fantastic experience and a great place to learn about the history of trains and transport.

The museum had an amazing collection of locomotives from different periods, including famous steam trains and royal carriages. I enjoyed seeing the trains up close and discovering how railway travel has changed over the years. The size and detail of some of the locomotives were incredible!

There was so much to see, and the displays were interesting and easy to understand. It is a brilliant attraction for visitors of all ages, even if you are not a huge train enthusiast.

I had a wonderful time exploring the museum and taking photographs. It was one of the highlights of my visit to York, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
