The ancient medium of Sanguine drawing. For my portraits, I use a red sanguine clay pencil for detail, which was used extensively in the 15th and 16th century. It's rich in iron oxide and tortillons to blend the details and create shaded areas. I create the portrait from a good quality emailed photograph.
