MILO EDWARDS!

Next month, For One Night Only becomes Absolutely Belting Comedy, weā€™re kicking off our new chapter at The Settlement in Letchworth with the brilliant Milo Edwards.

A critically acclaimed stand-up and podcaster, Milo combines sharp writing, dark humour and gloriously unexpected storytelling. From Cambridge Footlights to performing stand-up on Russian television, his route into comedy has been anything but ordinary.

His latest Edinburgh Fringe show, Catamaran, earned this five-star verdict:

ā€œA truly sensational hour of standup.ā€
ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜… ā€” Fest

You might know him from the podcasts Trashfuture, Glue Factory and Masters of Our Domain. His writing credits include Mock the Week and The News Quiz, and his work has also appeared in Private Eye and The New Statesman.

Previously known as For One Night Only, our regular comedy nights at The Settlement continue under our new name: Absolutely Belting Comedy.

Same venue, same team, a new chapter!

Saturday marked our final Letchworth show under the old bannerā€”but thereā€™s plenty more laughter to come.

Weā€™ve learned a lot over the past year, and weā€™re taking those lessons into this next chapterā€”working even harder to bring you a cracking, great-value night out, with carefully curated line-ups offering a mix of styles and something for everyone.

Weā€™ll be sharing our fresh new look soon, but you can already book your place for next month.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along, supported us and helped put the night on. We couldnā€™t do it without you.

Huge thanks to our brilliant acts: Gary G Knightley, Mark Cram, Abi Tedder, Mark Moloney and Mad Ron. What a belting line-up to go out on!

Thatā€™s our final Letchworth show under the For One Night Only banner. But donā€™t worry - comedy will be back at The Settlement on Saturday 21st November!

Youā€™ll still see us promoting it here through For One Night Only, but, fingers crossed, the next show will see the launch of our new brand. Thereā€™s been a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes, and weā€™re very excited about the future - and all the brilliant acts weā€™ll be bringing you.

Tomorrow is our final Letchworth show under the For One Night Only name. Weā€™ve got big plans for what comes next, but first, come and send us off in style!

Our headliner is the phenomenal Mad Ron, one of the funniest acts weā€™ve seen. A spoof hard-nut who brilliantly sends up Britainā€™s fascination with gangsters and celebrity criminals, he demands respectā€”but what he gets is laughter. A gloriously funny puncturing of toxic masculinity, brilliantly performed and expertly executed.

Weā€™ve also got former Cambridge Footlights president Abi Tedder, making the switch from sketch comedy to stand-up, plus King Gong winner Mark Moloney and reluctant Bedford Comedian of the Year winner Mark Cram, a stalwart of the London circuit.

All barely held together by the fabulous Gary G Knightley.

This is our last outing as For One Night Only in Letchworth, and weā€™d love to see some familiar facesā€”and a few new onesā€”to give it a proper send-off.

We're back at The Settlement this Saturday, 17 October, and it would be great to see you there!

Our headliner is Mad Ron, and we're particularly excited about this one. The comic creation of the amazing Steve Lee. Heā€™s a comedianā€™s comedianā€”the sort of act other comics make a point of watching. If you havenā€™t seen him before, please take our word for it: youā€™re in for a treat. He's one of the best acts on the circuit right now. A fantastic joke writer and a fabulous comic creation!

Without fail - those who have seen the act live, fall in love with it and we're proper pleased to have him grace our stage!

Heā€™s joined by Mark Cram, Abi Tedder and Mark Moloney, with Gary G Knightley as MC. Thereā€™s plenty of variety on this bill - Abi is a star in the making and the two Marks are very different but very funny. Mark Moloney recently won the BRUTAL King Gong at The Comedy Store and has been on our radar for months. And Mark Cram is a brilliant solid act, an old friend and a regular at all the big clubs in London.

Honestly, this has the makings of one of the best nights weā€™ve put together. With just a few days to go, nowā€™s a great time to book. Bring a friend, make an evening of it, and help us keep bringing brilliant live comedy to Letchworth.

And weā€™re keeping the bar prices friendly too: all cans are Ā£3, a small glass of w**e is Ā£3, and a single spirit with mixer is Ā£5. Another good reason to make an evening of it!
