BRIAN KELLOCK and STEVE KETTLEY
Kellock has been here several times, most notably playing a ravishingly beautiful Rhapsody in Blue with SNJO at Clickimin. He also played at our jazz and literature festival. One of the very best pianists that Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 has produced, who plays with humour and soul.
Kettley is an innovative saxophone player, best known for his work with Salas Celtica and the Cauld Blast Orchestra. He also plays with Beefheart/Zappa inspired Orange Claw Hammer. Expect an interesting set, with Rowen Thomson, Jim Quinn and Eamonn Watt.
And there are specially made cocktails by master-shaker Jonny Sanderson.

HALLOWEEN RISING
NORMAN WILLMORE AT CARNEGIE HALL
The prodigal return of Shetland's finest jazz export. Playing a unique set for the Witching Hours with RENZO SPITERI, a soundnoir experience. Not to be missed. Norman has prepared a special solo set, which gets its premiere. Renzo will also have a solo set of percussion and electronics. Their duo piece will be based on work from the Lovecraft album and its related Halloween themes.

Thoroughly enjoyed teaching this evening at Mareel for the Healing Arts Scotland sessions. A good turn out with 15 turning up and hopefully they will feel inspired to attend the next block of classes when I put them on.

Don’t suppose any of my Shetland pals have got a spare car I could borrow for a while? Mine, I suspect, is going to be off road for a while. I need to get into work early during the week and have a care client to get to three afternoons a week plus Saturdays to do teaching in Scalloway…failing that where is the cheapest place to rent a car?
