Paws for Reflection πŸͺž 🐈

Our Maine C**n print has always been striking, and the cat is out of the bag.

Though capturing that dense fur details makes this a somewhat tricky block to ink.

Hand-printed with oil-based ink onto handmade paper with natural fibres.

A quick look at a tiny print we created whilst working between larger blocks.

We set up a little cardboard jig to register it perfectly on the paper.

Celebration πŸŽ† πŸ₯‚ 🐱

After a few unsummery yet wet days, we thought a revisit of this celebratory multi-block would be in order.

The design utilises multi-block techniques; similar to our previous raincoat prints, leaving the paper un-inked highlights the transparency and reflection of the coats.

This lively print perfectly captures a moment of joy, even in damp circumstances.

β€œIt’s Just a Crow” πŸ¦β€β¬›

One of our earliest corvus prints, this is part of an ongoing inspiration that has led to many crow and raven designs.

Carved from a traditional grey lino offcut, the block is hand-burnished using a glass baren and a bone folder to capture all the fine details.

The final image is hand-printed onto lightweight handmade paper using water-washable oil ink.

Starstruck 🐱 πŸ•ΆοΈ

Revisiting this whimsical cat print, playing with the translucent effect of the eyes shining through the sunglasses.

This is a two-colour multiblock print. We aligned the layers using registration pins, then hand-burnished the block to capture all that fur detail.

The final piece is printed onto a beautiful, lightweight handmade paper.

Mamma Cat 🐈 🐱 ❀️

Always celebrating amazing mothers the world over with a feline portrait of a mother cat and her kitten.

To ensure complete ink coverage across the block, we used our much wider brayer. The block is hand burnished onto handmade paper with a deckled edge.

Chirpy Chitchat 🐦

Nine male sparrows sharing the latest gossip on a telephone line.

An acrylic wash creates carving contrast on the lino.I used a specialist dot tool to carve the eyes.

Hand-printed with professional water-washable oil-based ink, the crisp details bring these birds to life on the page.

Miau I 🐱 🐱 🐱 🐱

Revisiting one of our quads of mini cat prints, designed to capture cattitude and feline essence.

The blocks are inked separately and slot together in a registration board we created. Each one has its own distinct personality.

The final print is hand-burnished on lightweight paper, with a deckled edge that is perfect for these furballs.
