Robin & Corgeous πŸ•πŸ¦

Inspired by our very own gorgeous Pembroke Welsh Corgi! An imagined storybook friendship with our robin friend tucked neatly into the corgi’s pocket.

This has to be one of our most complex designs using two registration boards, six colours, and four separate blocks.

Boots & Badge πŸŽ–οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

This crowboy brings so much personality to the studio press! We used three separate plates to create this Wild West design.

While the final key block ties it together, the embossed star badge, hand embossed after printing with a subtle pop of yellow, is probably our favourite detail.

Shades on! This wren brings back those Converse trainers from our earlier crow prints, complete with a bold splash of colour.

A two-layer multi-block with a jigsaw element to highlight the sunglasses. Delighted to have this print on show at the Rheged Gallery’s β€˜Brilliance of Birds’ exhibition in Cumbria!

Traipsing Through the Snow β„οΈπŸˆ

The third and final print in our adventurous cat trio! Following skiing and snow angels, our little cat is homeward bound.

Balancing ink with embossed/debossed texture takes plenty of trial and error, but it's lovely seeing them all come together.

Snow Day Shenanigans β„οΈπŸˆ

While we’re far from a snow day in this summer heat, a cool break sounds ideal!

Combining a mini linocut print with debossed snow angel wings, where the heavy paper acts as a pristine snowy backdrop.

Dampening and blotting the paper just right ensures a crisp impression without any ink feathering.

Blimey That's Steep πŸ±β›·οΈ

Combining a mini linocut print with blind debossed ski tracks.

The heavy paper forms the snowy mountain, giving the impression that our cat has just carved down the page.

Dampening the paper slightly first before pressing was key to holding the deep tracks while keeping the printed detail sharp.

Pinecone 🌲

The final piece of our mini autumn trio! Balancing the ink and paper dampness took plenty of trial and error across this series, but it was great seeing them come together.

Printed on slightly dampened paper through the press to bring out some embossed details.

Maple 🍁

The second in a mini trio of leaf prints. Combining a red linocut print of the maple leaf with blind embossing for the stylised seeds.

The paper is dampened slightly before going through the press, and then we use a ball stylus to trace over the leaf veins for that extra raised texture.

Acorn πŸ‚ 🌰

Inspired by nature’s mast years, when oak trees produce a bumper crop of acorns. This print was our first experiment pairing a delicate ink layer with embossed texture.

Paper is dampened slightly before using the press, then detailed with a ball stylus to highlight those raised leaf veins.
