Viva La Musica Project (Leeds) is the collaboration between longtime salsa/Brazilian/Cuban/Latin music promoters and DJs Lubi Jovanovic and Fabio Bahia. Since 1995, they have been DJing together at such legendary and ground breaking Leeds clubnights Casa Latina, Salsoul, Carnaval, Viva Latina, Rumberos, 100% Latino, Made In Brasil and Calle Ocho. In 2003, they began promoting live music together a
nd since then have featured live gigs in Leeds by international artists such as La-33 (Colombia), Seu Jorge (Brasil), Orishas (Cuba/Paris), La Excelencia (New York/USA), Asere (Cuba), Herman Olivera (New York/USA), Drumagick (Brasil), Ska Cubano (UK/Cuba), Ed Motta (Brasil), Salsa Celtica (Scotland), Oguerre (Cuba), Danay (Cuba) and Johnny Polanco (Los Angeles/USA). They have featured live concerts by top UK Latin, salsa, Cuban and Brazilian bands including Dorance Lorza & Sexteto Cafe, Alex Wilson Salsa Con Soul Orchestra, Grupo So Kem Eh, Latin Dub Sound System, MC Magico, Son Yambu, Rumba Caliente, Salseology, Afrosamba, Wara, La Rebellion, Snowboy & The Latin Section and Sonido Callejero. Currently their venues in Leeds include the legendary Wardrobe (established 1999), The Faversham and Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen.
