Ellie Andrews Art Leeds based Artist and Founder Leeds Drawing Club Hello! I am a Leeds based Artist and Founder of Leeds Drawing Club (2007) and Body Matters Project (2023).

I originally trained in Theatre Design at Central St Martins, University of the Arts London, and art and life drawing has been a continuous presence in my life, throughout my career in hospitality (Owner, Cafe 164 Munro House & Headingley) and in the arts (Owner, The Gallery at 164). I now focus on my own art practice, and the life drawing classes I run and teach from my studio in Leeds. I am a fi

rm believer and advocate of drawing or making art as powerful tool to support your mental health. I have always used drawing to help me process difficult thoughts and challenging emotions and have often resolved inner conflicts through the process of working through a drawing. Life Drawing and Portraits are what I do, most days in my studio. I love working from life and I am particularly interested in drawing women and exploring identity, motherhood, and the inner worlds of women.

Curated by it’s a wonderful collection of expressions of love in all their strange and beautiful forms. The accompanying book is chunky, pleasing and packed full of poems, images & prose all about love. I’m excited to be part of it!
