So, the 2026 bandstand season has come to a close but if you’re among the many people who enjoyed either Soul Rites or Mania’s concerts this year, we have a date for your diary in early 2027.
Both bands will be performing together in charity concert at All Saints Church on May 1st in support of The Mayor’s Charitable Trust (MCT) and the church itself.
For those who are unaware of the MCT, this is a registered charity, via which successive Mayors of Kingston raise funds for local charities and organisations that support the residents of Kingston. The charities supported by this year’s Mayor, Councillor Thay Thayalan, are Kingston Mencap and RBKares, details of which can be found here: https://www.kingston.gov.uk/your-council/representatives/mayor/charitable-trust
Watch this space for further details and enjoy a fun - filled evening, while supporting some of our more vulnerable residents via the MCT and an invaluable community hub and heritage site in All Saints.

For his mayoral term, Mayor Thay Thayalan is pleased to be supporting and raising awareness for two charities: RBKares and Kingston Menca

Sadly, this Sunday will be the last concert of the 2026 bandstand season and I hope that many of you will be able to come along and support the Mole Valley Silver Band. Fingers crossed that the weather will be kind and we can get our final act over the line without rain. I know we need it but it can hold off till 5pm for them, surely?
Do check in over the off season and we will try to bring you news of local music events happening in Kingston to keep you limbered up for next year- please do let us know if you are aware of any.
We’ll give you one for your diaries next week, involving not one, but two of this year’s bandstand line up.

As there’s no concert this weekend ( don’t forget the Dragon Boat Racing), we thought we’d share details of the Saxon Fayre. This was brilliant last year and will be taking place in the Market Place, Memorial Gardens and All Saints Church on July 25th this year. Perfect for all the family with animals, performance and all manner of activities to try. You may even see a skirmish develop and if you’re really lucky, spot King Athelstan himself
