What is Highway to Hull Burlesque Weekender all about?
Yes it's shows, workshops, markets, but its much much more!
We felt like a lot of our history is lost, that the new generation of performers don't know the trailblazers who paved the way (a hot topic this week!) We wanted to document and celebrate these people.

Little Peaches

Little Peaches is an international burlesque performer and model hailing from the rainforest in tropical Australia. She has performed and been published all over the world including Australia, The UK, America and Italy. She is a proud advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the performing arts.

Named in the "Burlesque Top 50" by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine, she has performed in 11 different countries and was the star of the BBC documentary DisabiliTease, Owning the Stage and has also competed at The Burlesque Hall of Fame!

Unlock your inner musical performer to step your burlesque game up this year.

Hone your skills in transitions, movement and connection, and acquire the tools necessary to bring out the WOW factor in your next act and take your choreography from step-driven and technical to organic and awe inspiring.

Learn the importance of active listening, song selection and mapping, alongside tips to working with live bands. Lou Lou will teach you how to strengthen your use of rhythm, tempo, phrasing, and mood so that you will be set up for success next time you hit the stage.

TRADERS WANTED

Saturday 29th August is our independent market.
We are looking for local and national business, as well as performers who need to de-stash their costume closet!

Our market is conveniently located DoubleTree by Hilton Hull ballroom foyer, so all workshop attendees have to pass through the market to get to their workshops, meaning maximum footfall, we are open to the public and have pop up performances throughout the afternoon to keep people in the market and engaged.

This is an important part of international theatre and cabaret heritage, yet is often overlooked because of the stigma around the art.
St******se has often been dismissed in the UK as less than a professional art form, but that erases its impact.
Join Victoria Rose as she takes you through British Burlesque history, highlighting not only Soho queens of st******se, but also the UK Legends who started and inspired the community

Donna Poderosa is a London based burlesque artist and model of mixed heritage with both Brazilian and Italian roots. She is a versatile high energy performer with a passion for burlesque & twerking.
A proud graduate of the Soho Burlesque School (formerly known at East London Burlesque) and of the Black Burlesque School by The Cocoa Butter Club.
Recently voted in 21st Century Burlesque Top 50 😍
