Hull Freedom Chorus Hull Freedom Chorus Hull Freedom Chorus is your chance to perform as part of a large group at various high profile events around the Hull.

The group is now firmly established, with a reputation for delivering a fun and inspirational singing experience, as well as a great sound. The group aims to encourage wide participation in singing, and get lots of different people joining in. Singing is good for us, it’s fun and is a great force for social cohesion. What better than to have celebrated that at Hull's Freedom Festivals, and continu

e with other events around the City. Hull Freedom Chorus supports the development of existing singing activity in Hull which has a large and diverse range of activity at present. It promotes co-operation and understanding between choirs and singing groups in the City and beyond. However, we welcome involvement from anyone who enjoys singing and wants to be inspired by singing in harmony with a large group of people. It is fun and inspirational and a great experience for all involved. Membership of the group is entirely free and there are no auditions to join. All we ask if that members enjoy singing, are willing to join in and can attend the majority of rehearsals, or workshops for any project that you commit to. Activity happens on a project by project basis, so there are no set regular rehearsal days. Once you've joined you will be sent details of upcoming projects, and the dates and times of rehearsals for each project (these are usually determined by the availability of our visiting conductors). You then choose to opt into events on a project by project basis, depending on your interest and availability.

Hull Freedom Chorus is excited to be part of 'Our City' for Back to Ours on Saturday 14 March.

50 singers from Hull Freedom Chorus will feature as part of the evening finale show in Queen Victoria Square. Make sure to look up to see the group singing two original songs and raising our voices in a big welcome - out across the square. Please come along to watch and be part of this huge community celebration.

The Chorus are part of the finale which starts at 7pm - just a small part of a huge event. More than 1,500 local people have helped shape and create Our City. On Saturday Hull city centre will come alive with two community processions, daytime performances in Queen Victoria Square and Hull Minster, and a spectacular evening finale.
The finale features a new open-air performance written by local writer Russ Litten, celebrating Hull's humour, heritage and sporting history, with a local cast including Freedom Chorus and hundreds of singers from Hull choirs.

The celebration will close with a short, low-noise fireworks display suitable for all ages.
