The latter was published by Pebble Press, written for and by survivors of coercive control and/or post-separation abuse working with 'Mums In Need'. In addition, Amanda has published two poetry books of her own. The most recent is “The Emboldened Heart”, published in January 2026. Her debut collection ''Heart on her Sleeve'' was published in January 2024. Both books have been published by Enigma Press Partnership Publishing (www.partnershippublishing.co.uk)

She first performed at Yada Yada, The Confessional, Speak Out Scunny, North Speaks, Away with Words and continues to perform her poetry across the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region. Amanda, also, works with local libraries running poetry events and workshops collaborating with local musicians, other writers and poets. She does not follow any rules and lets her creativity shape her work. Her poetry is bold and edgy and is a reflection of her own mind and heart. She loves both performing her work and hosting events. She always encourages others to write as a way to express themselves and share their feelings. She believes writing your emotions down and saying how you feel on paper is cathartic and has helped her through many difficult times. She is the living embodiment of her own philosophy of: “Never stop believing in yourself - it's all down to you!”

If you would like to book a poetry event/workshop, mental wellbeing facilitator or are in need of a host; Amanda is your friendly, warm and energetic answer! She is available most Fridays and alternate Weekends. Other dates and times are available with prior booking. Please send your requests to her directly, to find out about her availability.

Another poetry collection I have wanted to read for a while. Astonishingly relatable. A woman after my own heart.

A brutal, painful and harrowing recollection through poetry of sexual abuse. Some parts are not an easy read whatsoever.

This is a brutally, beautiful collection that will touch your heart and mind so deeply, you will need rousing with sniffing salts.

Thank you Rupi Kaur 🙏🩷

Moving forward, never be afraid or feel guilty for setting your own boundaries to protect yourself.

I shall leave you with Rupi's words...

" do not look for healing
at the feet of those
who broke you"

" what terrifies me most is how we
foam at the mouth with envy
when others succeed
but sign in relief
when they are failing

our struggle to
celebrate each other is
what's proven most difficult
in being human"

Two weeks ago I attended Dr Helen Wall's book launch of her incredible book 'ADHD and Menopause' (published by Vermillion Penguin) at BookBean Bookshop in a little NorthWest village Kirkham, Preston, Lancs.

It was worth the journey to the other side of the country! I can honestly say, her event was fabulous, endearing and full of authenticity. I have just finished reading her book which, by the way, is the most powerful ally you will ever find (see amazon for my review).

Her book also covers the perimenopausal lead up making this literally a must read for any neurodivergent woman 🙏🩷

Here are a few photos of the event taken by Linda Mulvey # SnapItUp (permission granted)

If you get an opportunity to meet Dr Helen please do and get yourself a copy of this super book..
" You deserve to be heard, and you deserve to be believed, Dr Helen Wall "
