As mentioned earlier in the week, we are really pleased to be taking part in the Armed Forces Day in Coleraine this Saturday. We are playing at three locations duing the afternoon - 1.00-1.20pm at Christie Park, 2.00-2.30pm at Kingsgate Street and 2.50-3.20pm at The Mall. Do pop along to see us and have a word if you would like to find out more about the band and what is involved in piping or drumming.

This photograph from August 2010 shows the band members in Kilrea in Maghera Street approaching the Diamond. We are really looking forward to being back in the town tomorrow evening at Boveedy Flute Band's parade which starts at 8.00pm. There will therefore be no band practice and no tuition classes. Come along and say hello.

This week's video features the band members on the 12th July in 1994 in Kilrea leading L.O.L, 364 and L.O.L. 366. The band is back in Kilrea on Friday evening in what will be a busy week. On the pipes that day were Andy, Olivia, Ivan, John, Alan and Russell. John was on the bass drum with Davy and Simon on tenors and Jarvis, Kyle, Andrew, Nigel and Davy on snares. Thanks are once again due to Ian Linton of Linton Film Productions.

This day next week we are providing some entertainment for those attending the Armed Forces Day in Coleraine. We will be playing at various times in the afternoon at Christie Park, Kingsgate Street and The Mall Car Park. Thank you to the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for inviting us along.

A few photographs of the band members present at the Glenkeen Fife and Drum Parade in Garvagh earlier this evening. It is has been a long time since the band paraded just by itself at such an event. Special mention goes out to David, Hazel, Isis and Simon on their first time playing in public with the band. Well done!

We are looking forward to travelling to Garvagh tomorrow evening for Glenkeen's parade. Quite a few members will be out on the road with the band for the first time. There will therefore be no band practice and no tuition classes. Say hello to us if you are there.

This week's video features the band playing in Garvagh on 12th July 2010 with Russell, Pauline, Mark, Thomas and Jonathon on drums. Rodney, Amy, John, Hugh and Alan are on the pipes. This week's photograph choice was inspired by the recent very wet weather. The band members, with Andy Alexander leading the way, are pictured at the 12th July in we think Garvagh at some point in the early 1950s. The band is wearing the Royal Stewart tartan which arrived in 1949 and the pipers do not have the Robertson bagpipes which came in 1955. Any help with the location and the year would be great. Anyone recognise the make of the bagpipes? Those capes were really heavy!

This week's video, courtesy of Ian Linton of Linton Film Productions, sees the band members on a really wet 12th July in Tobermore in 1997. Janet is the Frum Major, the pipers are Andy, Russell, Ivan, Rodney, John, Olivia, John and Alan and Davy is on the bass and Andrew and Tristan are on the snares. The band is once again with the two Kilrea lodges, L.O.L. 364 and L.O.L 366.
